I purchased it one evening and attempted to use it the next morning after my shower and hair wash/dry. It wouldn't even come on so I had to go to a doctor apt. With my hair not fixed after I washed and dried it. It was a horrible experience. I returned it on my way home from the doctor for a chi. Which I love.

I forgot my Chi while traveling and didn't wanting to spend a fortune. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this works. I'll be leaving it in my suitcase and considering I travel every week, that should tell you how much I love it!

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

I decided to invest in a decent straightener that didn't break the bank and spent what seemed like hours in Ulta reading boxes, comparing to online reviews and making sure the straightener I got would be good for my very thin, fine hair. I thought I made a good decision.

For the first week or two I loved this straightener, except button placement, found that as I'd be holding onto it I'd inadvertently push the buttons and either turn up or turn down the heat. That was frustrating. I just learned how to hold onto it better.

Then, the straightener itself was so hot I couldn't grab it with my other hand, like sometimes we do for better stability. I burned by thumb because the outside casing was that hot. Mind you, I used the lowest setting because I have such thin, fine hair. I then noticed it was starting to damage the ends of my hair as well.

I ended up returning this for a Hot Tools straightener. Love Ulta's return policy!

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

The plates on the flat iron stick out just as far as the guard, I singed the skin on my finger while curling a clients hair, this also makes it dangerous for the client because it's a lot easier to burn them since there are no protective plates on the flat iron.

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

Love this flat iron. Have been using it for over a year. Straightens smoothly and doesn't leave crease marks on my hair like some flat irons do. My only complaint is that the placement of the buttons is TERRIBLE! They are right where you hold the flat iron, so I constantly have to turn it back on while straightening. I don't think I'll buy it again because of this.

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

I use this product everyday at home. I like the product because it heats up quickly and it's lightweight. The only thing I don't like about it is the setting location. It is right on the front of the iron and when you use the iron, your fingers wrap around where the settings are and tend to either shut the iron off or lowers the heat setting.

Does this product have a "swivel-cord" because I find myself using my flatiron to create curls and waves ad I hate when the cord tangles up and becomes hard to use when straightening, so I always buy flatirons with the swivel cord and I wanted to check before I purchased this one.

I have this flat iron but I'm unsure what temperature I should use. I have pretty fine highlighted blonde hair. I tried using it on the lowest setting, but my hair did not straighten. I'm a little hesitant to go up in temperature. Is there a range I should be in for having fine hair?
