Comments about Real Techniques Silicone Foundation Applicator:

I have been wanting to try a silicone sponge for a while and am a fan of Real Techniques, so for less than 6$, I felt this was worth trying. I am more satisfied than I thought I would be, using this sponge just takes practice.
Some tips- Use less foundation than normal, you want to use a tiny amount because it doesn't absorb anything. The place you put this sponge first on your face is going to be where the foundation is, so start by putting a bead size amount on each cheek, forehead, nose, and chin.
Also, it's going to take a longer time than normal to tap the foundation into your skin, unlike a normal sponge. Leave yourself more time to get your foundation on.

The con's of this sponge is that its a bit awkward to hold at first but I like the pointed shape to get in the sides of the nose etc. And again, if you dump too much foundation on this sponge, its going to all go into the first spot you touch that sponge on your skin, so be aware. you'll use less product with this sponge which is awesome.

Sponge is worth trying a few times to try to get the hang off, esp since its so affordable and easy to clean.

Comments about Real Techniques Silicone Foundation Applicator:

Since a couple months ago I really wanted to try a silicone applicator, it was very popular in the makeup world...saw this the other day and I love and use real techniques daily so I decided to give it a try...but I am not very impressed with how it goes on with my liquid foundation. It doesn't give the absorption like a sponge will give you, this silicone applicator will spread your liquid foundation but wont give the absorption it needs. On the back of the plastic container which this comes in, it tells you to use a sponge to finish off the look, this is true! One more con- this applicator is also awkward, small and hard to grip. I won't be this buying again, because a sponge can do all the work I need!
