Ask a Question
Self Tan Dry Luxe Oil is the most advanced formula in self tan. Your instant luxurious luminous glow develops into a long-lasting tan after 4-8 hours and lasts for up to 10 days. Infused with eco-cert approved DHA (an all natural tanning agent).
Shake well before use to disperse the shimmer. Pour a small amount onto the St. Tropez Applicator Mitt and apply to clean dry skin. Wait until touch dry before getting dressed. Allow four to eight hours before getting wet.

Precautions: Don't apply to broken, irritated, or sensitive skin. Stop if irritation occurs. Self-tan may stain. Avoid contact with eyes and lips; rinse if contact occurs. Sun safety warning: This product does not contain a sunscreen and does not protect against sunburn. Repeated exposure of unprotected skin while tanning may increase the risk of skin aging, skin cancer, and other harmful effects to the skin even if you do not burn.

Comments about St. Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil:

I read reviews on multiple websites of this product and most are mixed. I took a gamble and decided to drop the money on this tanner.
A couple of things to point out: If you are sensitive to pungent self tanner scents, then this product is not for you. This stuff smells like strong lemongrass, which I don't mind, but it does die down after an hour. This is definitely a tan-while-you-sleep product just because of the smell alone. This product does have shimmer to it which I like, but some may not. I applied this with a mit which I think yielded the best results of the application. One con I do have to point out is that it is sticky after you apply it. So if you are like me and you self tan before bed, give yourself at least half an hour before you hit the sheets. The color I developed once I woke up was a perfect sun-kissed bronze. Heads up, some of the color indicated will wash off when you shower but underneath is a beautiful healthy glow. I'm sorry I waited so long in trying it. The next night I did another application and the following morning I looked like I had been to Tahiti. This product is very build able and natural with any splotches. All I needed was two applications and my tan lasted an entire week with regular moisturizing. I'm a believer.

              very messy

              By shaduckchow

              from Texas

Comments about St. Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil:

This product was VERY messy. It was not an oil at all and more like water consistency. It was very hard to keep it from dripping off everywhere and ruining my floors. I wasn't very pleased with the smell either. It didn't stink, but it wasn't a nice scent like the other St Tropez products. The product kept separating in the bottle too. Shimmery bronze stuff sank to the bottom of the bottle.

Yup! We recommend exfoliating and applying their Tan Optimiser Body Moisturiser to dry, rough areas such as knees and elbows prior to applying the Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil for best results. Apply using their Applicator Mitt for the smoothest, most even look. :-)

Can you apply this tanner to the face? Some tanners are just for the body and not the face. And if its for the face, will the tanner give out an even skin tone matching the rest of the body?

I have used several self tanners and everyone, including the St.Tropez that the sales lady recommended because it was their top seller, turns me orange especially my legs. Someone told me it was the undertone of my skin color. Will this give me the same orange look? Don't want to spend the money for nothing!

                  A:

The Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil gives a lovely deep color, but it looks best on more olive toned skins. The best St. Tropez tan for you would be the In Shower Gradual Tan or the Express Mousse, but just leave on for a few hours then rinse off. If you have tried the Classic Self Tan Mousse or even Dark, we would recommend to give the new Express or In Shower tanners a go, as the color is super natural. You can control how dark they go. St. Tropez also offers a fantastic Gradual Tan Lotion, which would be good for you also. You can certainly patch test the Luxe Dry Oil, if you'd like to see how it looks on a discreet area of your skin prior to full application to be sure you like the effect.

                  A:

Remember, even though it is a dry oil, it is an oil, which means you will always have a hydrated feeling! Brazil nut oil dries faster than any other oil out there, hence why it's great to use with a self tan. If you feel really sticky, you have probably over-applied, so take a dry towel or mitt and lightly buff with a flat hand over the body to remove the excess, then you will be able to get dressed, etc., without any problems.

Wait until touch dry before getting dressed. Allow four to eight hours before getting wet (this includes perspiration). If you perspire when sleeping, you may get better results applying it in the AM and allowing the color to develop during the daytime.
