2 1/2 inch rollers.

By Gail the Baker

Pros

  • Just the right size for full hair

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Gives my hair lift.

Comments about Hot Tools Self-Grip Rollers:

I blow dry my hair to about 90% dry. Then, I use my big round brush and blow my hair out, clipping off sections of each area until I have the right height and poof. Then I use the 4 large rollers in sections on top of my head. Leave in for 1/2 hour. (While I put my make on) Then, after 1/2 hour or so, Spray hair in rollers with hair spray, wait a few mins and remove rollers. Style and spray with lightly with hair spray again. Makes thin or fine hair much fuller. The rollers have soft bristles and do not tear your hair out. They work great for this application.

Comments about Hot Tools Self-Grip Rollers:

Need to first blow dry hair so that its about 90%dry Then use volume spray or non sticky hair spray. . Roll hair section at a time Run blow dryer over rollers to set-- first hot then cold.

Do other things. when hair fully dry, remove and run hands through hair. Great waves that last.!

I have fine limp hair+ shoulder pain. needed something to create hair style without long blow drying sessions. these do the trick. They are simple and effective IF you first add a volume spray-- or even hair spray-- before rolling. Just putting them into dry hair wont do anything. works for me. .

Comments about Hot Tools Self-Grip Rollers:

I use these when blow drying my hair. I dry the top first, then I put these in and finish the rest of my hair. These really help to add volume and keep it. This way I didn't just go through all that work for volume to just lose it in a second.

For shorter lengths, choose a smaller size such as the 1-1/8 in size.

                • Q:

What is the base (tube part, not the grip part) made of? plastic, metal, ceramic, other? I own some plastic ones that I feel would work better if the base held some heat from the dryer.

Hot Tools Self-Grip Rollers may be used on dry or damp hair.

Using a comb, section hair approximately 2 inches wide, apply hair spray on this section.

Hold up your hair section at a 45-degree angle and start winding the end of the hair around the roller, and then angle the roller completely down toward the scalp as you continue to wind the remaining hair. Keep the tension even while rolling so that the roller sets firmly. Set the rollers in the direction of your desired hair style. Start at the front of the head and work your way toward the back. Repeat the rolling process until all of your hair has been completely rolled.

Mist the rolled hair with hair spray and let it dry naturally or with a hand dryer. Allow the hair to cool once it's completely dry. The time depends on how thick your hair is. Approximately 30-45 min.

Remove the self-holding rollers by rolling them out of your hair in the same direction in which you rolled them. Avoid sliding them out, which can tangle the hair.

Can you use them in dry hair and sleep with them overnight. And do they give good curls like good enough you'd think it would be from an hair curler?

                    A:

Yes, you can use the rollers on dry hair. We do not recommend to sleep with them. The curls you get from the rollers depends on the size of the roller. The smaller the roller is, the more defined the curl will be. The bigger rollers are ideal for adding volume.
