Ask a Question

This Sculpting Brush from Real Techniques is one powerful tool.  Accentuate the features you love, change the shape and look of your face, or simply enhance your natural bone structure. With the use of light and dark makeup shades, this brush gives you the flexibility to transform your look for any occasion.

Contouring:

Using a slightly darker color from your foundation/skin tone,  apply a small amount of product to your brush.  Following the downward path of your cheekbone, apply product from the lower tip of your ear down towards your lip, stopping at the area that is even with the outer corner of your eye.  Use this brush¿s larger head and bristles in circular motion to blend contouring product.  After the first layer has been blended, you can apply more product to the area to create a more contoured look.

You can also use this brush for contouring your jawbone and hairline as well.

Highlighting:

Once the darker contouring color has been applied and blended, place a small amount of a lighter cream highlighter onto the Sculpting Brush and apply to the top of your cheekbone, just above the contoured area and blend back and forth.  This will reflect the light beautifully and give your gorgeous sculpted cheekbones even more definition.

This brush works with cream or powder products.

Secondary Use: The sculpting brush can be used to apply overall foundation as well.

awesome brush awesome price!

By I love all makeup

Comments about Real Techniques Sculpting Brush:

I LOVE this brush. I am a makeup junky & love adding new brushes to my collection. I have tons of pricey, high end brushes, but this was my first ever Real Techniques brush. I am in love. It is great for contouring and is made very well, even better than some of my much more expensive brushes. I will definitely be buying more brushes from this brand & would recommend this to anyone. Great Brush, unbelievable price.

Game Changer!

By Tea

from Texas

Comments about Real Techniques Sculpting Brush:

I am awful at makeup which means I'm awful at contouring. Even when I thought I had picked out the right contour shade, my face would still look muddy or dirty. Figuring I needed an actual sculpting brush, I gave in and bought this on a whim. I LOVE it. It seriously gave me nice, sculpted cheeks without having to buy another contouring kit in hopes that it would work. This brush works fantastic. Use it with a light hand and gradually build with it for a flawless contour look.

Comments about Real Techniques Sculpting Brush:

I had originally bought this brush for contour and bronzer but now use it only as my foundation brush! I had bough the Real Techniques "Expert Face Brush" for my foundation originally, and was so disappointed in it that I wound up returning it. I randomly tried the "Sculpting Brush" to apply my liquid foundation and was ecstatic with the results! I use circular buffing motions and it left a perfect airbrush finish! The pointed angle is also perfect for buffing in foundation along the sides of your nose up to your eye, and in between your eyebrows. It also is way easier to clean than the "Expert Face Brush" and doesn't waste as much product.

Comments about Real Techniques Sculpting Brush:

This is one of my everyday brushes. It's very soft and thick-bristled. There for it picks up a lot of product, which is good or bad in some situations. If you have a bronzer or contour shade that is too dark or not the right undertone for your skin, be careful and use a light hand. I have only used it for powder contouring and bronzing, so I don't know how it works with other face products. If you use this for blending or buffing it does take a while. I would recommend using a specific brush instead, but it gets the job done.

                  Hi Cassandra,

                  YES!! :)

That is how excited I get about this brush - you can *definitely* use it for powder contour and it performs beautifully, mainly because of the unique cut of the bristles which contour so perfectly around the hairline, cheekbone and jawbone!

                  Thanks!

The brush head is about 1.5" wide, and the brush length is from base to tip of the bristle is just about 6".

                  A:

Hi Curious Makeup Artist (love your name, btw):

We have just launched some amazing cleansing products under our Real Techniques brand, but also under our EcoTools brand of makeup brushes as well. I'll tell you about some of them!

First, we have our new Real Techniques cleansing palette. I love this product! Most of us have been cleaning our brushes using the palm of our hands. I find that sometimes I press down on the bristles harder than I should. This palette has a multi-textured surface designed to gently work between the bristles for a better clean. And it has different sized "nubs" for your larger or smaller bristles.

We also have either a Gel Cleanser (from Real Techniques) or a Brush Shampoo (from EcoTools). We recommend the Gel Cleanser for brushes that get heavier use, simply because that's what that formula is designed for. Our EcoTools Brush Shampoo has slightly gentler ingredients, which aligns with our brand mission to stay as "green" as possible. Both give you amazing results, but I tend to prefer the EcoTools Brush Shampoo.

For in between cleansing, we've developed these amazing EcoTools Makeup Cleansing Cloths. With these, place the cloth across palm of hand. Holding brush in other hand, gently rub bristles with cloth until traces of makeup residue are removed from brush. Lay flat to air dry for 1-3 minutes.

Here are the Item #s for all these items:

                  Real Techniques Cleansing Palette: 2297111
                  Real Techniques Cleansing Gel: 2291546
                  EcoTools Brush Shampoo: 2297645
                  EcoTools Cleansing Wipes: 2297112

                  Hi there!

Thanks so much for your question! The Sculpting Brush is definitely one of my favorites, and I love that you can use it for so many things (foundation, blush, highlighting & contouring, etc). But I probably would recommend a different brush for the light and sheer finish you are going to get with a BB cream. I would recommend our Real Techniques Stippling Brush (shown here):

                  http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220083

or our EcoTools Stippling Brush, shown here:

                  http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod12441105

Both are designed to be perfect brushes for lighter product application, like BB Creams. The cut and the type of bristles used make this perfect for a natural, sheer look.

                  Thanks so much!

Is this brush dense enough to use for a liquid foundation

                  A:

                  Hi Makayla,

The wonderful thing about the Sculpting Brush is that it does have multiple uses. Primarily, it's used for Sculpting and Contouring, but it can also be used for applying liquid or pressed foundation. It has densely packed bristles, which is what you need when using liquid products.

Since the brush is angled, I use the shorter bristles when initially applying product, then use the entire brush to buff it into your skin. The nice thing about the angle is it makes it easier to buff product into those little nooks & crannies, like around our noses.

One other brush that would work beautifully for liquid foundation is our Expert Face Brush. The bristle density is about the same on this one compared to the Sculpting, but the main difference between them is the angle & cut of the bristle. The Expert Face is cut shorter which makes it perfect for application of any type of foundation.

                  Thanks so much!
