Comments about Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology:

Was recommended this by sales person for my oily/red skin. It's not the greatest, not the worst. The oil gets through by lunch and it does very little to combat the redness in my skin. Have used drug store brands that were more effective.

Comments about Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology:

I have re-purchased this many times over the years because I find that it does cover redness. However, I do have to apply 2 or 3 layers to get it to be "full coverage" because 1 layer is just not enough! You do have to be careful about setting this foundation with powder as well, because it is easy to look cakey. When I walk to work on 90 degree days, this didn't budge at ALL! I definitely love the staying power. It lasts me an entire day (12-15 hours of wear). I find it applies best on me with a beauty blender.

Corrects redness but stays tacky all day

    By K.M.

    from California

Comments about Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology:

I really wanted to love this foundation. It did a fantastic job of correcting the redness on my face that is caused by retinol. So many fair skin foundations have a rosy undertone, so this seemed like the answer I'd been looking for. Unfortunately, it has some significant downsides that make it unworkable for me. First, it applies streaky and I had to work to try to get it to blend evenly. Second, I have combination normal-oily skin. By the afternoon, this foundation made me look like a greaseball. Lastly, it never dried down. It stayed tacky all day, so anything that came into contact with my face would end up smeared with foundation. I tried to tone down the oily effect with oil blotting sheets (that I've used for years with a variety of foundations), but the sheets would come away with half my foundation on them. I couldn't even stand to touch my face, and I definitely didn't want my boyfriend to touch my face. Ultimately, there was just too much wrong with this foundation that the one thing right wasn't enough to make it workable for me.

Provides good coverage and redness coverage. I've been using it for almost a year now with no issues with breakouts or clogged pores. Blends very well with a green tint coverage cream for redness reduction - I use the Ulta brand green crayon concealer for rosacea.

I went on some intense prescription acne meds (epiduo, aczone, and some pill) that TORE my skin up. This was one of the only things that didn't have me in writhing pain while I applied it. The best part is that it literally took my red red red skin and made it look normal during the day, and I believe what the company says about it calming your skin in the long run. Thanks Clinique!

This product has permanently converted me from MAC to Clinique skin products. The makeup is not too heavy yet still covers the majority of redness with a thin spread. My skin becomes splotchy after I shower, and this makeup covers up my red spots perfectly.

I use this everyday because the calming alabaster shade matches me skin perfectly. However, I do have acne prone skin and it does not do a great job covering it up. Also, I work late unitl 11pm and it doesn't look very good by the time my shift is over. It sort of cakes even if I use Clinique primer along with their powder to set the foundation. I would say it's too pricey for the quality.

          • Q:

What is the difference between the Clinique Superpowder double face makeup and the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation and Concealer?
Also, I am already using the Clinique redness solutions makeup in the "calming vanilla" shade. Ulta does not offer this shade, so what shade would you recommend that I use instead?

              A:

Hi! I apologize for any inconvenience due to not having calming vanilla available in this formula. The darkest available shade is Calming Neutral. It is 1 1/2 shades lighter than calming vanilla.
In reference to the powder foundation options, they are both wonderful products. Clinique's Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation and Concealer will provide more coverage for your skin. If you would like to visit the Ulta store nearest you that carries a FULL line of Clinique product, we would love to work with you. We offer free color matching from an expert each day in those specific stores.
Have a wonderful week, and thank you for your question and loyalty to Clinique and Ulta!

Hi! I can help if you are not able to be color matched in store. I will need information about your skin tone. Is there another Clinique foundation that you currently wear that you could share the shade in that formula?
The best way to guarantee that you find a perfect match is to visit the nearest Ulta store that carries a FULL line of Clinique product in their store. We offer free color matching and sampling each day in those stores. Either way, we look forward to working with you soon! Have a great week!

Hi! This foundation is not necessarily a moisturizer, as you would still want to use a moisturizer with it. What makes it unique is its ability to minimize redness on the surface through it's calming and soothing benefits, probiotic technology and undertone. It really helps to neutralize redness on the surface. It also contains anti-oxidants like a BB or CC cream. Thank you for your interest in Clinique and have a wonderful week!

          • Q:

I have very sensitive, red, dry skin around my nose and mouth. Moisturizing tinted BB creams highlight my pores. Heavier foundation makes my skin look flakey (my dermatologist has instructed me not to exfoliate more often than every 2 weeks due to oversensitivity/redness). I am looking for a product that I can use every day all day that conceals my redness but looks natural. I do not want a full coverage look/feel. If it weren't for the redness around my nose/mouth I wouldn't wear anything more than under eye concealer. Will this product give me what I'm looking for? If not, what will? Thank you!

              A:

Hi! I believe you will enjoy this product for the fact that it will minimize the redness and calm the skin. It should be a nice option for you. Another thought to consider could be simply adding pigment drops to your moisturizer. If that is of interest to you, try Clinique's BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops. You add drops as you want more coverage and mix it with your moisturizer. It would eliminate a step for you, which could help with the sensitivity. I believe either would be nice options for you to try.
I would also like to offer you the service of a customized color match and sample at the Ulta store near you that carries a full line of Clinique product. They must carry the full line in order to have a Clinique expert available to help.
Just a thought.....have you asked your dermatologist about chemically exfoliating your skin daily versus manually exfoliating? You may want to ask if it would be appropriate to chemically exfoliate your skin with a moisturizing exfoliating product, like Clinique's Turnaround Overnight Moisturizer.
Thank you for your question and have a wonderful week!

Hi! Thank you for your question. Due to the nature of this foundation and it's ability to minimize redness, every shade in this formula has a nice yellow undertone. Knowing you will be able to achieve the undertone you are looking for, I suggest choosing the shade based on depth of color. If you would like to try this foundation, you may also visit the Ulta store near you that carries a full line of Clinique product. We offer complimentary color matching and sampling each day. This foundation will minimize redness, but you may want to try Clinique's Redness Solutions Protective Base underneath of a foundation that will help to control acne and oil. You may want to try Clinique's Stay Matte foundation or Clinique's Acne Solution foundation, partnered with the redness primer to neutralize the redness underneath. Clinique also carries an entire Acne Solutions 3 step skin care system that you may be interested in trying. Thank you for your interest in Clinique!
