This blow dryer has everything I need! It's powerful and gets the job done while being easy on my hair. My only complaint would be it doesn't come with a defuser. For this price, it definitely should!

    Comments about BaBylissPRO Rapido Dryer:

Unfortunately for me, this hairdryer didn't meet my expectations. I was recommended this dryer from one of the girls working at Ulta. I took it home and found it to seriously knot up my hair every time I was using it.I do have mid length, fine hair, but alot of it. This product I found took too long to dry my entire head than previous cheaper dryers. Although it was lightweight and the product itself looked great, the dryer itself was a huge let down.I have images of how matted and mangled my hair would become after using the hairdryer. I would honestly not recommend this product. I have contacted Ulta to try and get a full refund or exchange. I have the receipt but unfortunately not the original box and packaging.

I asked an Ulta Stylist for advice and she led me to this dryer. It is quick drying but also seems to keep my hair from getting dry ends. It is quiet and lightweight.

                        Comments about BaBylissPRO Rapido Dryer:

I was looking for a new hair dryer and wanted one with a lot of power that had variable settings, a diffuser, and wasn't too loud. I looked at various models and decided to give this a shot. I forget if it has 2000 watts or more than 2000 but either way, most dryers have between 1375 and 1875 watts and wow, does the additional wattage make a difference! My hair dries so much faster now - I can almost hit the snooze bar one more time and still not be late for work!

In addition to the power, it comes not only with one diffuser but three, all different sizes. Two are angled, which is great for when you're using a rounded brush - it goes right along the brush contours. Ok maybe these are technically diffusers - they concentrate the air flow rather than diffuse it - so hopefully you know what I mean when I'm referring to these attachments.

Two speeds, three heat settings with a button for "cold air blast." The high heat setting takes a little time to get to full heat, but when it is at full heat it gets very hot so be careful. I only use that setting when I first start drying my hair to get excess water out and then turn down to medium heat. The intensity of the highest heat setting is my only complaint - but it doesn't stop me from getting what I need from the dryer.

It is also a little bit quieter than my prior (lower wattage) hair dryer and was definitely quieter than other higher power hair dryers I tested at Ulta.

Note that while this hair dryer is pretty expensive, I used a 20% coupon and my points (I save my points toward a splurge) and ended up getting this for under $23. But now that I've used it a few times, while I would not want to pay full price for this, I definitely think it is worth investing in this dryer if you have at least the 20% off coupon.

What are the differences (specifically in performance) between this dryer and the Voltare with the Ferrari designed engine? I see the other one is heavier and this one is possibly quieter?

The ion generator in the Rapido Dryer cannot be turned off. Ions smooth the cuticle making the hair shiny and protected. They also make the hair dry faster. The texture you are feeling from your hair being "non-ionized" is likely a slightly abraded cuticle, which is not necessarily a terrible thing – but that texture could also be achieved through the use of appropriate styling products – resulting in the benefits of ionization, along with the texture you desire.
