Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

I bought one after having a cheaper hair dryer for 10 years. It never went out on me. The Chi hairdryer went out on me after a year. The company sent me a refurbished one after I paid to ship the broken one to them. It wasn't pretty like the previous one with designs on it but they sent a working one back after a few weeks. I have had the replacement chi dryer for 7 months and it went out tonight.
I would stick with a cheaper hair dryer with ion heat. Back to old reliable.

Do not buy this! It should be recalled!

Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

Like other reviewers I had problems with the on/off switch. The placement is bad. I bought this dryer on 02/03/2017. It went out on 09/08/2017. I thought it was going to ignite! It got so hot that I could see a red glow in it. So at 5AM I had to get my old Revlon dryer out. I have thin shoulder length hair so I don't think that overuse was the problem. This dryer should be recalled before someone gets hurt! I can't believe that it is still available.

Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

This blow dryer is TERRIBLE! I have very thick, curly hair and used the difusser attachment. It dries hair quickly but that's the only good thing I can say. This dryer made the top of my hair was sooo flat and limp. My curls were not bouncy and full like they usually are after I used this dryer. I will be taking it back today.

Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

I absolutely detest this dryer. I've owned it for just under a month. It feels like it's burning my hair off. My choices are scalding hot or fan blow cold. To top it off, when I do try to engage the "cool" mode, the off switch is 1/2 an inch below it so when you move your thumb off the cold button you end up turning the dryer off. I would never, ever buy this dryer again. My last dryer lasted for 8 years. I wish I'd never bought this one.

I had the same problem as other reviewers here. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because mine lasted 3 years before the heating element went out!! I have had less expensive hair dryers that have lasted over 10 years! Disappointed that this one broke because it worked so well, but too expensive for the poor quality.

My first CHI dryer lasted me almost 10 years. When it died, I bought this one from Ulta and it lasted 1 year and 6 months. I'll never buy another CHI dryer again. I had cheap hair dryers that lasted longer than this. I have switched to a Bayliss dryer and I'm hoping for better quality.

Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

This is the third dryer of the same model I have used. The first was a gift and the heating element stopped working within a month and Ulta was able to exchange it. The second one I used for about 6 months before it had the same problem with the heating element. I liked the dryer, so I purchased another one hoping the last mishaps were just from a bad batch. I was wrong, the heating element just went out on my third dryer after about 6 months. I will NOT be buying another. When I contacted CHI about the known problem, they want receipts, bank statements and money for shipping.

I bought this hair dryer approximately 3 months ago and it died on me yesterday. I threw the box away because I did not expect to have any problems. What is the warranty and do I need the receipt and/or box to get a replacement?

Please keep in mind that a hair dryer pulls air into its machinery via a motor, then blows it out. That makes it nearly impossible to have a completely noiseless hand-held. Based on testing, the CHI Pro Dryer has a noise level range from 76.0-83.0 decibels (dBA); however, individual units may vary.
