Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

I had the same problem as other reviewers here. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because mine lasted 3 years before the heating element went out!! I have had less expensive hair dryers that have lasted over 10 years! Disappointed that this one broke because it worked so well, but too expensive for the poor quality.

Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

My first CHI dryer lasted me almost 10 years. When it died, I bought this one from Ulta and it lasted 1 year and 6 months. I'll never buy another CHI dryer again. I had cheap hair dryers that lasted longer than this. I have switched to a Bayliss dryer and I'm hoping for better quality.

Worked great until a wire broke off in the heating element. Now this is a useless paperweight being a few months past the warranty period.

Comments about Chi Pro Hair Dryer:

This is the third dryer of the same model I have used. The first was a gift and the heating element stopped working within a month and Ulta was able to exchange it. The second one I used for about 6 months before it had the same problem with the heating element. I liked the dryer, so I purchased another one hoping the last mishaps were just from a bad batch. I was wrong, the heating element just went out on my third dryer after about 6 months. I will NOT be buying another. When I contacted CHI about the known problem, they want receipts, bank statements and money for shipping.

It's great hair dryer BUT it only last for about a year. I've bought two of these and each time (with daily home use) the heat stops working about a year. DO NOT BUY ANY MORE OF THESE!!! THIS MODEL SUCKS (and blows ;))

I received my CHI as a Christmas present. Was all I wanted. I have had it for a little over a year and then one day... NO HEAT! I have had hairdryers that cost me $20 that have lasted me over 5 years. Wish I had read the reviews before asking for it for Christmas.

I bought this hair dryer approximately 3 months ago and it died on me yesterday. I threw the box away because I did not expect to have any problems. What is the warranty and do I need the receipt and/or box to get a replacement?

1800 watts dryers provide more powerful airflow for faster drying times. 1300 watts dryers are more energy efficient and use less power.

                      A:

Please keep in mind that a hair dryer pulls air into its machinery via a motor, then blows it out. That makes it nearly impossible to have a completely noiseless hand-held. Based on testing, the CHI Pro Dryer has a noise level range from 76.0-83.0 decibels (dBA); however, individual units may vary.
