Comments about Dermadoctor Poetry in Lotion Intensive 1% Retinol:

I'm 43 and have only had this for a week- upon first use I saw a reduction in pore size. I wish it felt more moisturizing, but it's certainly not drying. I use every other night with moisturizer in between. Great product and I already know I will continue use just based on what it's done with my pores!

I have tried various retinol products (Rodan Fields, Thomas Roth, Philosophy, Nuetrogena, etc.) and I keep going back to this one. I LOVE Poetry In Motion for my skin! My skin is clearer, not dull and has a healthy glow. I'm definitely going to stick with this product from now on.

I bought this one because my store was out of the Peter Thomas Roth RETINOL FUSION PM™.
Follow the instructions because you will need to use a moisturizer. I have very oily skin and it can tolerate retinol but Poetry in Lotion Intensive 1% Retinol made my skin flakey. I use it every other night.

Once I'm done with Poetry in Lotion Intensive 1% Retinol, I'm going back to Peter Thoms Roth.

I have noticed a difference in the fine lines and wrinkles. However, I did put it on under my eyes and the skin looked like it was chapped and swollen. I had to wait about 4 days for it to clear up back to normal. I would suggest not putting it to close to the skin under the eye but I still use it very sparingly and since have had no problems.

                        A:

The Poetry in Lotion contains 1% retinol and is geared towards anti-aging concerns--fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, skin discoloration--but it can also work to improve the appearance of pores. Picture Porefect also contains retinol, but it is formulated glycolic acid to specifically help unplug pores and prevent blackheads. It also has mattifying properties if you tend to be on the oilier side.

                    • Q:

I've been using the Kakadu C serum every morning for the past six month and feel like my 65 year old skin looks smoother and brighter than ever, and feels softer. I wanted to find a night cream that would be compatible with the C serum. Which Dermadoctor product do you recommend for mature skin? Also, how can I find out when a Dermadoctor rep will be at one of the Ulta stores near my house?

So happy your skin is loving the Kakadu C serum! If you love the brightening effect of the Vitamin C, I would recommend the Kakadu C face creme as a compatible night cream that is fantastic for mature skin needs. Our reps are constantly moving around to different Ulta Beautys, but we always have a DERMAdoctor rep in stores on Saturdays, so that day is your best bet!

                        A:

We recommend applying this to completely dry skin after cleansing. Since this product contains retinol it might interfere with other ingredients in serums, so we suggest alternating nights with this product and other skincare treatments.

You can certainly use Poetry in Lotion in conjunction with Ain't Misbehavin' Medicated AHA/BHA Acne Cleanser; for best results, limit initial use to no more than every other night as your skin's tolerance adjusts. Only a pea-size amount is needed. Wait 20 minutes after cleansing to apply to completely bare, dry skin at bedtime. Avoid simultaneous application of other topical treatments/moisturizers in order to reduce the risk of dryness or irritation of the skin. Be sure to wear broad spectrum SPF 30 or more during the daytime, as use of retinol and glycolic acid can make your skin more susceptible to sun damage. We hope this helps!
