Doesn't heat up unless cord in a certain position

          By Nurse stef

          from Kentucky

Comments about Hot Tools Pink Titanium Curling Iron:

Worked great the first two months. But then I noticed it wouldn't heat up and the power light didn't light up unless the cord was in a certain position. You know how your old phone charger won't charge your phone after a year or so unless it's taped a certain way ? Same thing here. The cord spins around the bottom of the iron 360 degrees so it's impossible for me to hold the cord in a certain position and curl my hair at the same time. Had to toss it. For this, I won't purchase hot tools anymore.

Comments about Hot Tools Pink Titanium Curling Iron:

I was very disappointed in this particular Hot Topic curling iron. I generally love their products, however this curling iron I purchase twice and neither one worked more than 1x each. Think it was the cheap version as it was on sale and I sad disappointed that Hot Topic would skimp on the sale item.

What is the difference between a ceramic curling iron and a titanium curling iron? Is one better for the hair
Asked on 12/14/2014 by Natasha from Rockville, MD

                  1 answer

                  • Staff Expert

                    A:

This curling iron features a titanium barrel that heats quickly and reaches high temperatures (up to 450 degrees F!) for instant results. The titanium barrel is also very smooth, so it won't cause damage by snagging hair.

The benefits of ceramic over titanium are that ceramic produces negative ions to infuse hair with moisture and shine and can be less damaging to hair. We always recommend using a heat protectant spray regardless of the material of your heat styling device to help keep hair healthy and beautiful!

                    A:

This iron is not dual voltage. To use it internationally will require a voltage converter and plug adapter.
