Comments about Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control:

I have medium olive skin and I tend to get a pimple or so every month around my upper lip or chin area. I use a multitude of primers on my face, depending on the area and the need, so I use this primer specifically for my chin and upper lip. I started getting a pimple before I bought this and with my daily skin care and the addition of this primer, it went away within a day. Normally, my other primers would inflame the acne and make it last much longer. I am extremely happy with this product. Note, the product is liquidy compared to most primers (because of the salicylic acid), so I apply it very lightly with my hands. Any more than a light application would make it ineffective primer wise.

Comments about Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control:

I wanted to like this product, since its Smashbox, and since it was a high price. I have oily skin, with inflamed acne, so I needed something to reduce my oil and pore size. This did not really make any difference. Sometimes, the primer would clump on my face and make it look like I was peeling. Sadly I do not use this product anymore.

Hi There! We do not suggest using the Blemish Control Primer if your skin is peeling. Instead, use the Hydrating Primer to add moisture and smooth the skin. Your foundation will look great and last all day!

Does this primer have the same texture as the original primer foundation (white), which is sort of like a gel and dries with a silky texture, or is this more watery? I really like the texture and finish of the original primer.

                    A:

The texture of Smashbox More Than Primers is more like the feel of a serum, still silky & luxurious. The Original Primer feels more gel like than either of the More Than Primers; More Than Primer Blemish Control is lighter in feel on the skin but still provides the same skin experience as the Original but with corrective benefits. This is also a Primer that must be applied to bare skin first, so instead of applying it over moisturizer you are applying this right after your cleanser, before your skin care. For the corrective benefits of this Primer, it must be applied to clean skin to ensure you are getting the most benefits.

If you are sensitive to this active ingredient, we would recommend Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light, which is ideal for oily, acne-prone or sensitive skin:

                    A:

Which primer you use depends on your primary skin concern. If your primary skin concern is acne, we suggest using this primer, which is formulated with 2% salicylic acid and is oil-free to help keep skin clear. If your primary skin concern is redness, we suggest using Photo Finish Foundation Primer Adjust, which features a neutralizing green tint to help conceal redness for more even skin tone. Please note that Photo Finish Foundation Primer Adjust is not oil-free but is formulated for all skin types.
