Traditional conditioners contain silicones and oils, which build up on hair, attracting dirt and oil, and weigh it down. PhD Conditioner is powered by Living Proof's patented Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA), which creates a weightless shield around each hair strand that:

  • Delivers the five benefits for a perfect hair day - smoothness, volume, conditioning, strength and polish
  • Repels dirt & oil allowing you to wash your hair less often
  • Promotes stronger, healthier and more manageable hair
  • Improves hair health instantly and gets better over time

For all hair types. Sulfate-free, silicone-free and oil-free. Safe and formulated for color and chemically treated hair.

After using PhD Shampoo, apply PhD Conditioner to clean, wet hair. Spread evenly throughout hair. Rinse. Style with PhD 5-in-1 Styling Treatment.

    Super Drying for my Hair

    By purslaneprovidence

    from Tampa, FL

Comments about Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Conditioner:

I was excited that this product had no silicone in it, but whatever is in it coated my hair and dried it out. Not sure why it was so miserable but by the third wash/dry/blowout I couldn't get my brush through my hair without that horrible breakage feeling. I had to wash it out and condition with something else right away. I know it works for lots of people but definitely not for me.

Comments about Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Conditioner:

I first bought a sample of this product before spending more on the full size bottle. The product in the sample sizes had my hair feeling amazing and healthier than ever! I bought the full size product after and it's like there are two completely different hair care lines in the different sizes. My hair is dry and lifeless. I can't even run my fingers through my hair after brushing it because of the texture it has. Before with the sample sizes my hair was silkier than ever, now it is brittle and dry. I am incredibly disappointed with this product and will never purchase again! The only thing it does right is keep my hair from building up grease and oil for about 3-4 days.

                      A:

If you have dry hair, we'd recommend you extend shampooing for as long as possible. You could do that with our PhD Dry Shampoo. Irritated scalp can be sensitive to any type of cleansing, so it may take time for it to normalize, and letting it rest might be the best option. With that said, if your hair is really damaged, consider using Restore Shampoo and Restore Conditioner, if it's only somewhat damaged, consider PhD Shampoo & Conditioner. We also suggest using a product like PhD Night Cap to help bring your back to a healthier looking state faster.

                  • Q:

I currently use the PhD shampoo and love it. My hair is very oily at the scalp and this helps keep my hair clean longer. I've been growing my hair longer and now the ends are becoming very dry and dull. Should I use the PhD conditioner also or the Restore conditioner?

                      A:

We'd recommend using the PhD Conditioner in conjunction with the PhD Shampoo that you already use. They're meant to work together to keep the hair smooth, hydrated and cleaner longer. Also try PhD Fresh Cut (Item #: 2301744) to keep your ends smooth in-between trims!

I have very fine hair that is thinning a bit and an oily scalp. My ends tend to get dry and break easily because my hair is so fine. Would this be a good product for me?

We recommend Timeless Conditioner instead of PhD, this will be more fortifying and has amino acids to help strengthen your hair and will not weigh the hair down.

Hi, I have coarse, curly, frizzy hair. I get it colored for grey every 4 weeks and Japanese straightening every 6 months. It's 85 percent grey. Right now it's feeling and looking brittle and dull. It breaks easily. While I like joico shampoo and conditioner I need more intensive repair. What shampoo and conditioner, etc. do you recommend ? It seems like I have no oil or lustre. Thanks so much l! Btw ! I am from India (so you'll understand my hair type).

I have fine curly hair and struggle with frizzy, dry ends and undefined curls. Is this the best living proof product, or is there a better living proof shampoo and conditioner to use? I'm looking for softer and more defined curls Rather than a product that will straighten.
