This product is amazing. It was so gentle on my hair, and smells fantastic for hair dye. The color looks great and hasn't faded like other products I've used.
The only negative is the washing out process is intense. Because it's oil based, it doesn't just Rinse out like other hair dyes. After 10-15 rinses the water finally ran clear. A bit of a hassle, but worth it.

Comments about Garnier Olia Brilliant Color:

I decided to try this because my hair was straw-like in certain areas after using traditional hair dye (L'Oreal), blow drying, flat ironing, getting lots of sun, etc. I also am pretty "green" and am concerned about some of the nasty chemicals in traditional dyes. I tried color 4.35 and was happy with the results. My hair is soft and shiny, my grays are covered, and my hair and bathroom smell good! I do find the oils in this product a little heavy on my fine, curly hair. The color was just what I expected, dark brown with subtle warmth. The dye was not drippy, but I found the applicator bottle a little slippery when wet.

Comments about Garnier Olia Brilliant Color:

Would give 4.5 stars if I could. Has a couple downsides, but this has been my overall at home coloring favorite for several years now. What I love: the smell is very mild, there are virtually no lingering fumes. It also seems very gentle on my hair, I don't see any increased damage. The color itself also comes out rich and shiny but very natural looking. I used to mix medium neutral brown & dark neutral brown. I'm sad they seem to have discontinued some of the color range recently, I really appreciated the neutral options. Now I use 4.0 & 5.0. Downsides are: I feel this isn't truly permanent color, it fades out faster than most for me and I can see color continue to rinse out. Also, as others have said, the bottle is kind of teardrop shaped which makes it slippery and prone to tipping over.

              My new favorite hair color

Comments about Garnier Olia Brilliant Color:

I've been a loyal user of another popular brand since my hair starting going gray in my late 20s. Recently they discontinued the ammonia free brand and the new product in its place has damaged my hair terribly. Refusing to ever let my gray roots see the light of day I turned to this brand hoping for a miracle and that's exactly what I got. I have very thick coarse African American hair with stubborn grays and this covered every single one and made my hair super soft. It was so easy to use and did not leave any black streaks in the shower. This is officially my new go to brand!!

Hi, I havery used Olia for several years and love it! I have been discouraged by the product name /color changes. My favorite was lightest natural blonde, I haven't been able to.locate it for several months and find that I don't care as much for the golden pearl light blonde.... suggestions?

We are sorry for the confusion. The lightest shade that Olia has offered is Lightest Ash Blonde #91/2.1. Our Light Blonde, which is natural is #9.0. Both of these are still current shades. We have not offered a Lightest Natural Blonde in this line. Hope this clears things up.

Hi, Meghan! If your hair is naturally dark brown, the lightest you can go with Olia is in the Light Brown range. However, if your hair is color treated dark brown, you may not see the same shade like the box because hair color cannot lighten another hair color. Permanent hair color does not make hair oily. You may not need to shampoo as frequently when you color the hair but you will never have to shampoo more frequently.

Can you mix two different shades together? I have stubborn gray roots so I use a medium brown to cover but a little bit too dark for the rest of my hair. What would you suggest? I was thinking about using a golden warm brown for the rest of my hair. I'm 60 year old so I don't want that solid brown color.Thank you

                        A:

While you can't physically mix 2 shades into one developer bottle, if you want to use a medium brown on the roots and a light brown in the last 10 minutes of your timing to refresh the color on the previously dyed hair, that's fine. If you go that route, mix up both colors at the same time and leave the top off the developer bottle of the light brown until its time to refresh the color on the ends of the hair. This will keep the mixture from over heating in the bottle.

I recently purchased at my Local Ulta store, Garnier Olia 6.43 Light Natural Auburn hair color. I am now trying to order the same color from Ulta.com, However, although the graphics show this color as 6.43 Light Natural Auburn, when I try to add it to my order, the color shows as 6.35 Light Natural Auburn. Why is there a difference in the color number, but not in the color name? Which is correct. How do both colors compare?

Hello Claire! The 6.43 is the Light Natural Auburn. The 6.35 is the Light Chestnut Brown. The 6.35 Light Chestnut Brown has been discontinued. The difference between the colors is that the 6.43 has copper and gold undertones in it and the 6.35 had gold and mahogany in the product.
