Ask a Question
Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Color Creme dramatically transforms naturally dark hair with ultra reflective tones. Choose from Ultra Light Blondes, Ultra Intense Reds and Burgundies, Ultra Lightening Browns, and Ultra Reflective Blacks. Ultra Light Blondes take dark brunettes to blonde without bleach, Ultra Intense Reds and Ultra Intense Burgundies offer vibrant red tones for darker hair, Ultra Lightening Browns lift dark hair up to three shades lighter without the brassiness, and Ultra Reflective Blacks transform even the darkest hair with visibly reflective, shiny tones. Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Color Creme comes with an ampoule of grapeseed oil to start nourishing hair while you color because nourished hair means better color. The non-drip hair color formula spreads easily and the after-color conditioner is infused with 3 fruit oils--avocado, olive and shea--for silkier, shinier, more nourished hair.
Always refer to insert inside product for detailed application instructions.

Precautions: Haircolor and bleaches contain ingredients which may cause allergic and/or other types of reactions. A skin allergy test is required 48 hours before each use of a haircolor product. Bleaches contain persulfates. Bleaches and high-lift haircolor shades cannot be used on relaxed hair; for other haircolor shades, wait at least 14 days after bleaching, relaxing or perming before coloring. This product overall sucked, i've used many hair dyes for a way cheaper price that actually dyed my hair. This product did not change my hair color at all. And then chemicals are very strong.

Comments about Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color:

I dyed my whole head a shade of burgundy in the past, but it appeared more like highlights with this brand. It still looked nice, but it wasn't what I was going for. It also faded out of my hair very quickly, and left my hair with an ugly shade of brown mixed with burgundy after about 3-4 weeks. It is a good product for the price though, I would try it again in a different shade.

Comments about Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color:

This review is for Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Blonde in shade LB1. I used it for a root touch up because I wanted a high lift but did not want to risk bleaching again. As you can see in the before photo, my roots looked awful before! Very dark brown and with some ginger to them. Also very uneven (looks like I have a 'root cap' on lol!). In the after photo you can see that it did lift a couple levels, also it evened out the color a lot! But it wasn't 4 levels of lift, and its pretty brassy too, unlike a true cool blonde. But my hair condition is still decent, the mixture was super easy to mix and apply, also easy to rinse. Even with the high volume (level 40) developer, this dye did not bother my sensitive scalp AT ALL. I might use it just one more time in a week or so to try to get it a little lighter then finish off with my violet shampoo and conditioner to get the last of the brass out. Its no super-lifting miracle blonde, but its a decent, gentle lift for the price.

Comments about Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color:

I have naturally dark brown hair with maybe 5-10% gray, but the gray is all on the top, where it's noticeable, of course! I've been coloring my hair since age 14, and have tried many colors. As I've gotten older, I find lighter hair is softer and more flattering for me. I had been using a "Light Brown" from Clairol, which was ok, but my roots never got as light as I wanted. I decided to try this one, as I had about 1.5" of natural color growth. My middle to ends had gotten really light over the summer from the sun, and the B3 Golden Brown made my roots match my very sun lightened hair. The grays on top look like blonde highlights, so I'm really happy with the result!

        • Q:

I have dark brown hair that's difficult to dye and ends up brassy. I don't really want to go to a salon and spend so much on hair that would eventually grow back to its original color. I'd like to try the LB1 but would it end up brassy on my hair? I've heard that this is good for dark hair...

          • Brand Expert

            A:

Nutrisse Ultra Color LB1, Ultra Light Cool Blonde, was specially formulated to lighten up to four levels without bleach. It is best for anyone with natural hair between light brown and darkest brown that wants to achieve a cooler toned blonde. The darker the natural hair, the more warmth will appear in the final result.
For women with currently colored hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. Because of this, we do not recommend shade LB1 for use over hair that has been bleached, highlighted, hair that is predominantly gray, or if you have recently colored your hair "Dark Blonde" or darker.

          • Brand Expert

            A:

Switching brands of hair color is not a problem, however, be sure to continue to apply your new color following the touch up directions. The new growth needs the full time to process, but the previously dyed ends only need the last 5-10 minutes of the process to pick up enough color.
However, if you're trying to use a lighter shade over hair that has been dyed with a darker color, the dark dye has to be removed from the hair before you can go lighter,
