Ask a Question
Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Color Creme dramatically transforms naturally dark hair with ultra reflective tones. Choose from Ultra Light Blondes, Ultra Intense Reds and Burgundies, Ultra Lightening Browns, and Ultra Reflective Blacks. Ultra Light Blondes take dark brunettes to blonde without bleach, Ultra Intense Reds and Ultra Intense Burgundies offer vibrant red tones for darker hair, Ultra Lightening Browns lift dark hair up to three shades lighter without the brassiness, and Ultra Reflective Blacks transform even the darkest hair with visibly reflective, shiny tones. Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Color Creme comes with an ampoule of grapeseed oil to start nourishing hair while you color because nourished hair means better color. The non-drip hair color formula spreads easily and the after-color conditioner is infused with 3 fruit oils--avocado, olive and shea--for silkier, shinier, more nourished hair.
Always refer to insert inside product for detailed application instructions.

Precautions: Haircolor and bleaches contain ingredients which may cause allergic and/or other types of reactions. A skin allergy test is required 48 hours before each use of a haircolor product. Bleaches contain persulfates. Bleaches and high-lift haircolor shades cannot be used on relaxed hair; for other haircolor shades, wait at least 14 days after bleaching, relaxing or perming before coloring. This is a safety summary. Read all product labeling and instructions completely prior to use.

Comments about Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color:

I got so tired of purple-blacks pulling red after a couple washes that I just switched to blue blacks. This dye gives a really pretty shiny raven blue-black. It has the usual dark dye bleeding, but holds fairly well and lasts a while if you're gentle with it. Like most Garnier products it smells better than most dyes and the included conditioner leaves hair super silky. No burning or itching during application, and I had enough dye to thoroughly coat my shoulder-length hair.

Comments about Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color:

I have an obsession with purple. Especially purple hair. But I have been a redhead for most of my adult life (decades) and my fine hair does not appreciate being tortured with bleach. So when this new Garnier Ultra Violet was on the shelf at Ulta, I grabbed 2 boxes ecstatically. I drive home and colored my hair according to the instructions. I let my hair air dry (good tip for freshly colored hair; heat can fade it out), so I did not really know if it was purple yet. It was darker. Once my hair dried, it was a very pretty cherry red with pinkish highlights. Bing cherry, not Maraschino. I didn't have highlights before, so where they came from, IDK, but I like it. Very, very glossy. All in all, I am happy but still on a quest for purple hair without bleach. If you have a recommendation, please let me know.

Comments about Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color:

I've been using Garnier for years. It is the best at home color system out there. That said, I opted to try a different color than usual to look fresh for my engagement photos, and was disappointed with the results. The product was represented as Violet (V2 Dark Intense Violet) but was in fact bright red. That is my only complaint as the color was still full and vibrant.

This product overall sucked, i've used many hair dyes for a way cheaper price that actually dyed my hair. This product did not change my hair color at all. And then chemicals are very strong.

    • Q:

I dyed my hair like two months ago, it has now faded to a auburn color but I would like to dye my hair a dark indigo color like the one from garnier. Wha can I do to achieve this color?
Asked on 4/13/2017 by Nelly31 from Houston, Tx

      1 answer

      • Brand Expert

        A:

Hi Nelly31! It is possible that if you put IN1 Dark Intense Indigo over an auburn haircolor, the result could look purple. We recommend that you neutralize the red first with Nutrisse 50 Medium Brown. As long as your hair is in good condition you can use IN1 48 hours later.

    • Q:

I dyed my natural blonde hair auburn now want to go back to blonde. Would this work?

      • Brand Expert

        A:

Unfortunately, this shade will only lift naturally dark hair. Haircolor does not have the ability to lighten other haircolor.

    • Q:

I have natural reddish blonde hair would l b2 work without bleach? I like more blonde then red

      1 answer

      • Brand Expert

        A:

Since this color is made to lighten natural hair up to 4 shades lighter than its starting color, it should make blonde hair very light.

    • Q:

I have naturally black hair but it fades out to a blonde ombré.. if I use the Indigo color will it change my blonde to green? or will it just make the blue stand out more?
Asked on 2/20/2017 by Mermaid Hair from Pensacola, FL

      1 answer

      • Brand Expert

        A:

The Nutrisse Ultra Color shade IN1,Dark Intense Indigo is best for anyone with natural hair between Light Brown and Darkest Brown. On the dark hair you will achieve ultra bold indigo reflects but on any hair that has lightened to a shade lighter than a light brown, the results may look more faded or discolored. Hair that has a lot of yellow (most blondes) covered with a blue shade will look green. (yellow and blue always make green).

Answered on 2/24/2017 by Brand Expert from Garnier
    • Q:

I have dark brown hair that's difficult to dye and ends up brassy. I don't really want to go to a salon and spend so much on hair that would eventually grow back to its original color. I'd like to try the LB1 but would it end up brassy on my hair? I've heard that this is good for dark hair...
Asked on 11/16/2016 by jasmina from US

      1 answer

      • Brand Expert

        A:

Nutrisse Ultra Color LB1, Ultra Light Cool Blonde, was specially formulated to lighten up to four levels without bleach. It is best for anyone with natural hair between light brown and darkest brown that wants to achieve a cooler toned blonde. The darker the natural hair, the more warmth will appear in the final result.
For women with currently colored hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. Because of this, we do not recommend shade LB1 for use over hair that has been bleached, highlighted, hair that is predominantly gray, or if you have recently colored your hair "Dark Blonde" or darker.

    • Q:

I have perminate colar on my hair. Can I use this product?
Asked on 11/2/2016 by Bernadette from FL - Florida

      1 answer

      • Brand Expert

        A:

Switching brands of hair color is not a problem, however, be sure to continue to apply your new color following the touch up directions. The new growth needs the full time to process, but the previously dyed ends only need the last 5-10 minutes of the process to pick up enough color.
However, if you're trying to use a lighter shade over hair that has been dyed with a darker color, the dark dye has to be removed from the hair before you can go lighter,

    • Q:

Is this color safe for black ethnic hair?
Asked on 7/19/2016 by Cl from Dublin, georgia

      1 answer

      • Brand Expert

        A:

The Nutrisse Ultra Color are made for use on all hair that is medium brown or darker. It's not recommended for use on hair that has been chemically treated with perms or relaxers.
