Comments about Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask:

Caused a serious allergic reaction that made my skin burn, sting, peel, flake, and break out in red bumps. It also made my eyes and lips swell and left my face with several raw patches that are weeping. I rinsed my face with cool water and the cream stuck to my skin like the oils that make poison ivy or nettle stings so painful. It only came off when zi used a paste of aloe, milk, and baking soda to neutralize the acids and cut the oil. It is greasy and even though I have fairly dry skin that rarely breaks our, it left me with clogged pores and oil stains in my pillow case. It is heavily perfumed although I did not see fragrance listed in the ingredient list. It smells like strong floral air freshener. It is not all-natural and contains cheap fillers like castor oil and dimethicone, both of which clog pores. I like the Kulep brand as a while and their serum is excellent. Hopefully, they will reformulate this product by cutting out the fillers and oils and replacing them with high quality botanicals and minerals.
Instead of turning to harsh acids and exfoliants that literally burn off your skin, consider using gentle healing products. It will be easier in your skin and budget. Ulta carries the Yes to Carrots, cucumbers, blueberries, and coconuts line, Burt's Bees, Derma E, and MyChelke natural brands. No OTC skincare should cause a reaction as serious as the one I experienced.

Comments about Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask:

This product is neither hypoallergenic or all-natural and has a strong scent. Even after rinsing it off, it caused a serious reaction. It felt like a cross between a sunburn and the itching and weeping of poison ivy and it caused welts, clogged pores, flaking skin, and itching, swollen eyes. The reaction may have been to perfume or fillers. I finally had to take a Benadryl capsule and use aloe gel to calm the reaction. I saw no improvement of my skin after trying this cream and it is the only new product in my regimine. Hopefully, Julep will reformulate its products with fewer cheap man-made ingredients in favor of botanicals and minerals. I use $15 organic
rose hip oil, organic rose water as a toner ($11-15,) MISHHA's first essence($30,) Julep's 'your skin needs this' serum ($30+), or one of the Yes to serums,( $20), Weleda's chamomile or almond cream, ($18), and masks, cleansers, serums, and eye creams by Yes to Carrots, Blueberries, Coconuts, or Cucumbers. My skin looks much better than it did when I used harsh products. Ulta carries good natural brands like Burt's Bees, Derma E, Yes To, COSRx, and, MyChelle. Consider saving your skin and money; try gentle products before torturing your skin with retinols and harsh exfoliants. I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that chemically burning or manually peeling one's skin off, can't be an entirely good thing.

          Korean Skincare

Comments about Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask:

I am using this nightly, as directed. It goes on nicely, you don't need to use a lot - so great coverage - and I rinse it off in the am before I start my morning Korean Skincare cleaning with the oil and sponge, followed by the "All you Need" moisturizer! I really like this line so far. I'll update as time goes on - maybe even add a picture or two!

          I have repurchased 3 times

Comments about Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask:

I have used this sleeping mask almost every night since October 2014. At first when I ised it I could feel it on my skin in the morning like it had sort of left a comfortable protective film. Now I don't feel that because my skin is finally hydrated. You only need a little. This is one of my favorites from Julep. I highly recommend it for year round use.

Comments about Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask:

After trying the Julep hydrating oil, I fell in love and wanted to try their other products. I applied this at night and woke up in the morning with Pimples on my face. I couldn't believe it. My forehead was rough with pimples. My cheeks and around my chin. I'm gonna return it.

          Moisturizing, creamy, smells nice

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask:

This is a great product and my first of Julep's. I have combination skin on the dry side, and in the winter I always have a hard time keeping my face moisturized. I've had this product for almost a year and a half, using at least once per week, and I still feel like there's half the bottle left. It moisturizes well and I'd recommend.

Comments about Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask:

I love that I can put it on and forget it. I'm a mom so its nice to get some facial time in, even though its when I'm sleeping! Also, I've noticed that this un-healed pimple I have on my face is slowly fading away since I started using Julep products...the skin oils especially! I have a very greasy nose but this doesn't cause my face to break out! Nice!

Yes! Julep is dedicated to manufacturing and providing our customers with products that are not tested on animals. The Julep Product Development team has a zero tolerance policy regarding this concern, and work only with the most respected suppliers that also share this commitment.

          • Q:

I see this mask contains glycolic/lactic acid. As such, could it be used over a retinol product (e.g., Retin-A) or a chemical exfoliant (another AHA or BHA)? Or should it not be layered with other exfoliating acids? Thanks!
Asked on 3/21/2017 by elci from New York, NY

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

Night Shift contains a very small amount of glycolic/lactic acid, which is generally safe to be used with your usual retinol/AHA/BHA products. Depending on the percentage of retinol you are being advised to use, we recommend integrating Night Shift into your current skincare routine in small amounts, and fewer times a week. Enjoy!

              A:

The skin in your under eye area has a much delicate composition than skin in other areas of your face. We do not recommend using Night Shift under your eyes.

The product has been tested and verified as hypo-allergenic. Night Shift has been used by those who have sensitive skin and have yielded great results, but skin sensitivity is very subjective to each individual. We hope this helps! Thank you

Yes, it is safe, but Julep's recommendation would be to avoid for people prone to acne breakouts. It's very high in oils and humectants and might not be ideal for those with acne issues.
