I use this after blowdrying my hair straight. It replaces a flat iron. I have used this exact curling iron for years and it makes my hair super smooth with just the right amount of curl.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

Have always used the 1.5 curling iron, was extremely hesitant about this size or being ceramic. I must say it gives me the look as was looking with the 1.5 size, just enough wave, and it just 5 seconds per section.

I love the Hot Tools NanoCeramic products!

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I LOVE the Hot Tools NanoCeramic products. My hair doesnt usually curl well with other irons, not even other lines of Hot tools. I have this in 1" and 1 1/2" as well as 2 wands and they all do a great job curling my stubborn hair. On top of all of that, it makes my hair look and feel softer. No need for hair spray and the curls usually last all day for me.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I had to replace my old Hot Tools iron (same model) because the spring, well, sprung...after only two years of thrice weekly use. The new iron I purchased is a lighter weight (good), but while it lost it's bulkiness, I think it lost some of the ability to curl stick-straight thick fine hair. It doesn't seem to heat up as well as the old one - I've got the heat setting turned all the way up on this one, whereas the old one I only had to turn it about halfway to get the heat setting i needed. It also snags - the old one never did.
Instead of getting nice, neat waves, I am just getting a gentle bend and damaged-looking ends. Really disappointed in the quality of the new iron.

I do not know which curing iron to choose between this one, the black and white, or the purple and barrel size. My hair comes to the middle of my back (usually longer), naturally wavy, frizzy, and typically dry ends.

The difference is the material of each -

CeramicTI Tourmaline (purple) - Ceramic Tourmaline surface with titanium additive emits gentle far-infrared heat and negative ions to increase hydration and shine while reducing frizz.

24K gold plated (gold) - Even heat distribution create long-lasting curls and waves leaving hair looking smooth and glossy.

NanoCeramic (black & white) - NanoCeramic barrel creates an ultra smooth surface for frizz-free styles.

                          A:

The NanoCeramic material of the barrel is ideal for color-treated, damaged, or over-processed hair. NanoCeramic means that there are finer particles of ceramic that are used in making the surface of the iron for a smoother surface that glides across hair more easily and heats more evenly. For long hair like yours, to create loose waves, we'd suggest using either the 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" barrel size.
