Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I have used Hot Tools for years and love their products. I was really interested in the ceramic curling iron to limit damage to my hair, however there is no "slide" to ceramic material. I use my curling iron to both straighten and curl - when I clamp it at the top of the hair shaft and try to slide to the end, it doesn't move well, thereby leaving clamp marks where I don't want them, etc. I love the gold barrel irons - I'll just stick with those. I imagine if you just want to use this for curl starting at the end of your hair, vs. near the root, it would work fine. I'm returning mine...

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I love it. The barrel is actually long enough for my incredibly long hair, which is hard to come by. It doesn't snag and pull my hair which I feel like other curling irons do. I love the barrel size, especially for my long hair because it curls it but doesn't create ringlets.

I do not know which curing iron to choose between this one, the black and white, or the purple and barrel size. My hair comes to the middle of my back (usually longer), naturally wavy, frizzy, and typically dry ends.

The difference is the material of each -

CeramicTI Tourmaline (purple) - Ceramic Tourmaline surface with titanium additive emits gentle far-infrared heat and negative ions to increase hydration and shine while reducing frizz.

24K gold plated (gold) - Even heat distribution create long-lasting curls and waves leaving hair looking smooth and glossy.

NanoCeramic (black & white) - NanoCeramic barrel creates an ultra smooth surface for frizz-free styles.

That is correct, this tool is not dual voltage. This tool is designed to operate at US standard voltage 120V. Hot Tools does not advise to use it with a converter, as it may damage the tool.

                        A:

The NanoCeramic material of the barrel is ideal for color-treated, damaged, or over-processed hair. NanoCeramic means that there are finer particles of ceramic that are used in making the surface of the iron for a smoother surface that glides across hair more easily and heats more evenly. For long hair like yours, to create loose waves, we'd suggest using either the 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" barrel size.
