Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I really liked the curling tool & using it was not difficult, although the curls oy lasted in my hair for about 30 minuets. So in the end, I ended up returning it. NOT because the product didn't work or was poor quality but because my hair didn't hold the curls. I'll be sticking to my Chi hair straightener.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I bought not one, but two, different curling irons to see which one I would like more -- this nanoceramic and a gold barrel. The quality on these must have gone way down since I tried my mom's 7 years ago, because my smooth, shiny fine hair was a frizzy mess with both afterwards...and neither curled my hair in the slightest. Just flipped the ends out. So disappointing.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I have fine, thin hair that is very long and this did absolutely nothing to my hair. I even turned the heat setting all the way up to 450 degrees, and nothing. Only a line from the clamp, but not even a wave or a slight curl from the iron after multiple attempts. I tried using product before curling, and again with no product, held my hair in until my scalp couldn't take the heat any more.... nothing. The ultra employee who suggested this curling iron had thick, coarse hair and said it works great. I just don't think it works for my hair type.

Is this curling iron Ceramic Coated? If so, do you have any that are ceramic but not coated? I bought the purple version of this iron less than a year ago and the coating has already worn off.

I do not know which curing iron to choose between this one, the black and white, or the purple and barrel size. My hair comes to the middle of my back (usually longer), naturally wavy, frizzy, and typically dry ends.

The difference is the material of each -

CeramicTI Tourmaline (purple) - Ceramic Tourmaline surface with titanium additive emits gentle far-infrared heat and negative ions to increase hydration and shine while reducing frizz.

24K gold plated (gold) - Even heat distribution create long-lasting curls and waves leaving hair looking smooth and glossy.

NanoCeramic (black & white) - NanoCeramic barrel creates an ultra smooth surface for frizz-free styles.

That is correct, this tool is not dual voltage. This tool is designed to operate at US standard voltage 120V. Hot Tools does not advise to use it with a converter, as it may damage the tool.

I have long (to the middle of my back), thick, fine, wavy, color treated/damaged hair. Would the barrel be long enough for lose waves? Would you have a suggestion for a curling iron that would be perfect for me?

                      A:

The NanoCeramic material of the barrel is ideal for color-treated, damaged, or over-processed hair. NanoCeramic means that there are finer particles of ceramic that are used in making the surface of the iron for a smoother surface that glides across hair more easily and heats more evenly. For long hair like yours, to create loose waves, we'd suggest using either the 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" barrel size.
