I have used Conair Big Curls hot rollers for years. My previous set lasted 10 years. This new set does not heat up enough which makes the curl very wimpy. Disappointed.

The rollers are too hot to touch, even on the surface that is supposed to be cool. There is no way to roll the hair without it continually slipping off. Left them in for 30 min. but hardly got any curl, and it did not last.

Do I have to fill the steam reservoir with the water before I plugging in the hairsetter?

                          A:

Yes, before plugging in the hairsetter, fill the removable reservoir with tap water to the fill line. Remove one of the rollers and place the reservoir on the heating post. (Do not remove the roller with the ready dot). Close lid and plug hairsetter cord into a standard household outlet. When the ready dot on the roller turns transparent white, and slight steam and water beads appear on the lid, the rollers are ready to use.

The steam reservoir is included. The steam reservoir is a piece that can be placed in any of the spots that the curlers sit. In other words, you will have to remove one roller to place the steamer in the unit.
