I love the W&W Mega Glo highlighter formula, so I was really looking forward to picking up this palette. As soon as I saw it pop up on Ulta, I ordered it. The formula in each of these four is just what you'd expect - richly pigmented, smooth, and long-wearing. I love it.
What I did not like about this palette was the glitter. Oh my gosh, so much glitter!!! The bottom right color is the worst offender, but all four have some level of glitter. If it weren't for this, I would 100% be in love with this. But because of the glitter, I'm seriously debating taking it back. Makes me sad, because the colors and formula are beautiful otherwise!
these highlighter is just truly amaaaaazingggg
So the first highlight and the second highlight (Sweet Peony-the light pink, and Diamond Lilly-the bluish silver) both pull a very strong silver undertone and on my skin tone (warm med/tan) look very similar. They pretty much just both look silver on me. Diamond Lilly is a spot on color dupe for the Star (the silver) shade in my ABH Moonchild Glow Kit. The green shade (Wild Cosmos) reflects gold, and it just looks gold on the skin rather than green. It's almost spot on (color-wise) for their Mermaid highlight they released for their fall line, but a tiiiiny bit more green (the difference is not noticeable on the face) and definitely more glittery and slightly less pigmented. The last shade (Blushing Azalea) is pretty much utter garbage. It's CHOCK full of glitter. They all have glitter, which I'm not into, but Blushing Azalea is full of it. The color is beautiful but it barely has any glow and it's dusty and glittery. It's too dusty and chunky to even work as an eyeshadow. Shame, because I love the color. As for application, they blend out pretty well, in my opinion, they don't just sit on top of the skin. Even Blushing Azalea blends well for how full of glitter it is. And the good thing is that it's the kind of highlight that isn't visible from a straight on angle, but the reflect is only visible when the light hits it, which makes it look more natural. Other than that, I'm not very impressed because they all accentuate my pores and texture a LOT. To the point where I don't really want to wear them out. If you have very smooth skin you might be able to pull this off well, or if you're not to nitpicky with highlights and want something affordable that's also unique.
I was so excited when I got an email from Wet n Wild and saw this. I wanted it so bad that I bought it through their website instead of Ulta's. The shade that sold the pallet for me was the top right one, 'Diamond Lilly'. It looks like a beautiful silvery white. My excitement fell flat when I finally got it in the mail. The beautiful white shade I couldn't wait to use was actually a dull baby blue-ish color. All the colors were darker than what was advertised. On top of that, Wet n Wild's "limited edition" Mermaid highlighter they launched in the summer was repackaged in this pallet as 'Wild Cosmos'. It's the exact same shade. I put the mermaid highlighter right next to the one in the pallet just to be sure. Yeah I'd recommend this pallet because the shades are nice, but try to find pictures first. Sucks that this was disappointing.
this is such a great deal. highlights are buttery.
these colors are a little out there but they are so beautiful. i thought the bottom left color would be more of a gold, if you apply too much it is more of a green. the bottom right is really nice as a blush topper. the top right is beautiful for everyday as we as the top left if you have extremely pale skin.
