DevaCurl Low-Poo Original Mild Lather Cleanser is a mild lather cleanser that gives curls a dose of essential moisture and is ideal for fine hair that needs a thorough, yet gentle cleanse. The tropical scent of Starfruit & Mango is sunny and succulent. This mild-lathering cleanser, made with gentle hops and soothing chamomile, cleans and hydrates the scalp and hair without stripping away the natural oils your curls need. Low-Poo leaves you with healthy-looking shine and bounce. Great for wavy and curly hair.

Wet curls in the shower. Apply cleanser to your scalp and massage with your fingertips. As you begin to rinse, allow the water to help move the Low-Poo through the ends. Make sure to rinse thoroughly by massaging your scalp again as the water runs over your curls. Follow with One Condition for long-lasting moisture.

Comments about DevaCurl Low-Poo Original Mild Lather Cleanser:

After getting my first DevaCurl cut, I wanted to make sure that I could take care of my hair and keep it looking great. So as I was thinking about products, I decided to invest in DevaCurl Low Poo and One Condition, because in my mind that seemed like the safest bet.

I started to use the shampoo and conditioner, and noticed that my scalp was getting increasingly greasy and gunky. At first, I thought this was because I was transitioning out of sulfate shampoos and therefore my scalp was just producing more oil than usual, but then I noticed that even right after a shower, it still felt this way. So I went online to look up reviews and see if I was using the product wrong, and saw the specific instructions to massage the shampoo out of the hair very well. I tried to do this, but it still felt matted and gross in the shower, and when it dried, my scalp looked greasy and "caked." Yuck! A couple of times I caved and used a little bit of my old "sulfate" shampoo and bam! Clean hair again.

I decided to persist with using the product, and tried a couple of things—a boar bristle brush, adding baking soda, etc. This fiasco lasted for a month, and I now have some breakage in the areas where it affected my hair the most from my trying so hard to get the shampoo out (crown, near my temples, etc.). I finally decided to take the product back to Ulta yesterday and, fed up, bought an Organix sulfate-free shampoo instead (mind you, basically the cheapest sulfate-free shampoo there is). I washed my hair with it last night and it's the lightest, softest, and most buoyant my hair has been since I got my hair cut.

I'm not sure if it was something in the batch I bought (I bought it in early January 2017 at the Ulta in Waco) or what, because it seems like it's worked wonders for some people but others have had a similar experience to mine. If you're using it and wondering what's wrong, I'd say return it and find a new shampoo, because it's NOT just your hair adjusting.

                          3. Low Poo is better for finer or wavier hair types since finer hair is easily weighed down. Our Low Poo's offer a light lather but they are gentle enough to use daily and will give you a more clarifying cleanse. You may want to try Our original DevaCurl No-Poo cleanser, it is designed for all textures of wavy and curly hair. DevaCurl No-Poo is lightweight and won't weigh your hair down.

If you have wavy hair, you will want to try our New Delight line! Delight provides weightless moisture and helps enhance the shape of waves. It is formulated specifically for wavy hair.

If you have curly hair, I would highly recommend trying our Original DevaCurl Low Poo cleanser. Low Poo Original is formulated for finer curly hair.

                      • Q:

I have wavy 2b/2c fine hair. I tried the original no poo and original one condition and loved the curls I got from it, but I felt like it was a little too heavy for my fine hair. I recently switched and tried the low poo delight and delight one condition. I love that it doesn't weigh my hair down and my waves look beautiful, but I liked the curls better when using the original. I noticed the original also comes in low poo. Would this give me more of the curls I liked but better with weight for my fine hair?

I use the volumizing foam and small amount of the styling cream while my hair is wet then the deva towel to scrunch dry.

                        Thanks!

Not exactly. The Original Line has more moisture than the Delight Line, thus giving your curls a different shape. The 2 low-poos are different from each other. My suggestion is to use both. Like for example Original all during the week, Delight on the weekends or whenever you want to change things up. If you are happy with your stylers, you can use those with Delight or Original.

                          A:

Yes, Low-Poo is quite good for fine hair, and it has a mild lather from a coconut derivative. Make sure to vigorously scrub off, don't just rinse off. Then apply your One Condition, but you'll likely not want to leave any product in. Start fresh with your styling products in soaking wet hair. Have you ever tried the Frizz Free Volumizing Foam?

                          A:

Both cleansers are sulfate, paraben and silicone free. No-Poo will provide more conditioning benefits, while Low-Poo has a higher pH level, which can be attractive for those with fine and/or thin hair, as some feel like No-Poo is a little too heavy for their curls.
