Comments about Butter London LIPPY Moisture Matte Lipstick:

I adore the Ruby Murray color but I can't stand wearing it. This formula manages to dry out my lips a lot while clinging to any flakes. I'm in love with the color and it lasts forever on but I can't rebuy.

Comments about Butter London LIPPY Moisture Matte Lipstick:

This is the best matte formula lipstick I have found. Goes on smooth, doesn't feel overly dry, and stays on for most the day. I just can't get the right color choice. Everything is either too pink, too bold, or you can't see it at all. I went into the store and tried them all and couldn't find a color I was in love with. If they would expand to some colors with a little more brown in them, I think this lipstick would be a winner. It is a stain type lipstick. I have the Ruby Murray color. I usually put a brown color overtop of it to tone it down a bit. If you wipe off the lipstick, you are left with very pink lips for the stain. Waiting for more color choices before purchasing again.

I have a hard time finding lip products that do not bother my sensitive lips. Happily, this does not. Wish the color selection was better. It has good staying power and is not drying.

        Absolutely Amazing!!

        By Em

        from Dallas, Texas

Comments about Butter London LIPPY Moisture Matte Lipstick:

This is hands down the best matte lipstick I've ever tried (and trust me- I've tried A LOT of different brands and lines) have been searching for a matte lip color that I don't have to order online only- it all started with my first Kyle Jenner lip kit which is amazing & nothing came even remotely close to comparable when trying to find a wonderful matte I could go into a store and buy- this lipstick is the closest I've found to the lip kits as far as quality and lasting time, doesn't smear right off if you accidentally touch your lips (as many many many other matte lip colors in other brands have done)

Comments about Butter London LIPPY Moisture Matte Lipstick:

Holy pigmentation, Batman. I was NOT expecting it to be so smooth to apply. You can definitely use a light touch. It feels kind of thin on the lips, especially after it's had some time to set. I had to keep checking that it was still there. It dries down to almost transfer-proof. I purchased the shade Old Blighty for two reasons: a few colors had caught my eye, but I didn't have anything like it and (honestly) the name makes me laugh. I wore it to work and only had to touch up after eating a pretty messy lunch. It was still passable, but I love the color and wanted perfection. It's a perfect brick red/ burnt orange that makes me feel like I'm actually changing things up a bit. It also has a really pleasant, incredibly subtle vanilla scent to it. One trouble: the rounded shape made it harder for me to get a nice sharp line at my lip border. It also seems to feather a little, but a little lip liner would probably solve that problem. I only barely outlined my lips because I didn't have a similar enough color. Packaging is very attractive, including the box it comes in.

          • Q:

What would be the best color for fair face, brown eyes. Could you recommend three of them? Many people give me compliments when I use Ladybird. Besides that one, I was looking for other tones in red, nude, and pink colors. Thanks!

            • Staff Expert

              A:

For a red, I would recommend Come to Bed Red Moisture Matte, it's more of a true red than Ladybird which is more tomato red. It's a great classic red lip color! For a pink, if you wanted to go bold and bright either Dahling or Primrose Hill Picnic Moisture Matte are great fun colors. But if you wanted something more neutral pink, I would recommend either Abbey Rose or Toff Moisture Matte. They are more muted and softer pinks. If you wanted a beige nude color, there aren't that many in the Moisture Matte family so I would recommend checking out the Plush Rush Collection! Either Lucky or Free Plush Rush are complimentary nude shades for fair skin!

            • Staff Expert

              A:

It depends on the vibe that you're going for! If you wanted something bold and bright, either Ladybird Moisture Matte or Primrose Hill Picnic Moisture Matte. Ladybird is a great tomato red that looks great on fair skin and Primrose Hill Picnic is a very bright bold pink color. If you wanted a more muted and everyday color, I would recommend Toff Moisture Matte. It's very complimentary on all skin tones and has a hint of pink so there is some color and not your traditional beige nude. Enjoy!
