Super excited to try this but not wowed

I don't like the applicator tip. It's very minty, like putting straight peppermint oil on your lips which is an ingredient. I'm pretty sure that is supposed to cause plumping as it boosts circulation. I don't notice much of a plumping effect though, maybe a little. I never expected it to work miracles though as these products aren't meant to have collagen injecting effects, just subtle changes. What really causes me pause to repurchase is that it feels hydrating initially, almost like a balm, which I liked, like the original lip primer from ulta, but that goes away in like 5 minutes with or without lipstick over the top. My lips always feel extra dry on days I wear this and get dry patches frequently on days I wear this in particular. I prefer the original lip primer to this.
