Comments about Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask:

My acne had never been bad until I was an adult and let's face it adult acne is so embarrassing. Fed up, I was willing to give anything a go. This mask is super easy to use—you literally just have to hang out for 10 minutes. It makes your skin slightly dry but nothing a good moisturizer can't fix!

My biggest issue was that my acne trouble areas are the sides of my face and the bridge of my nose. The light mask only has lights that penetrate your chin, cheeks and forehead. Because of this it didn't quite reach the acne near my temples.

The other thing is most of my acne is nodular. It never actually surfaces, just feels like a big knot under the skin. While the mask didn't stop these breakouts, it did reduce the size and their life span. Other acne like whiteheads were quickly eliminated and appear smaller.

Comments about Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask:

I'm 22, have struggled with moderate to severe acne since like 6th grade. My skin is combo in that it gets oily but also dries out like crazy around acne spots. I've been using this mask for about 6 months and it has eliminated most of my acne; i have about 30% of what I use to. Not only does it help prevent the number of pimples I get, but it makes them go away faster and fades scars. It was not drying at all either. I would recommend listening to music with your eyes shut while having it on, it is bright. But it's 100% worth it and has been a complete game changer in my life. Seriously, I never review stuff. This is worth every penny.

Comments about Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask:

The product doesn't get rid of my acne but it helps keep the pimples from getting huge I feel like it hasn't necessarily drastically changed my skin, but it does help so I give it 4 stars. I feel like it would work better if it was a longer light session like the pimples need more than 10 minutes to get an effective treatment but I don't know. I'd say buy it and try it really only way you'll know if it works for you.

Comments about Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask:

I had my tubes tied several years ago and had NO issues beforehand. After however, I started seeing moderate acne that wouldn't go away. I've switched washes, creans, you name it. I got a good enough routine going to keep them small but there were always bumps in my face. Then I tried this and within a week my coworkers and even my teenager were telling me they noticed a difference in my skin. The mask feels a little weird to wear around for 10 minutes but totally worth it and you don't have to do anything beside literally sit there!

Comments about Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask:

I've been using this every night before bed for 12 days and I can definitely see an improvement. I have moderate acne with a couple whiteheads that pop up every now and then. It has completely banished my bigger pimples and really smoothed out the bumpy texture of my forehead.
That said, after I started using this I started to breakout out on my chin which has NEVER happened before. I've been able to control it with spot treatment but it's a weird side effect. It's because my nose and chin are getting super dried out with the mask, so I've been using a heavier moisturizer in those areas and its reduced the breakouts. (I usually use Hydro Boost all over my face).
Overall I would recommend it if your skin is on the oiler side, because it is pretty drying and may be bad for drier skin types.

Many years ago my dermatologist recommended light therapy for my acne. I am so glad that it's now available to the consumer at such an affordable price, and something that you can do at home. It seems to do what it's supposed to! My face is much clearer!

Comments about Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask:

Years ago, I tried blue light therapy for mild/moderate acne and didn't see much difference. This product is much better, and is only a fraction of the price you'd expect to pay in a dermatologist's office. The combination of blue and red light reduces inflammation and kills acne-causing bacteria. I noticed a difference in the texture of my skin after about 3 days. It appeared much softer and more evenly-toned. (I'd attribute this to the red light.) My breakouts were pretty much nonexistent after the 6th week.

I was getting some cystic pimples from the multivitamin I was taking. (Beware of Biotin and B-complex.) The mask didn't do much for those pimples, because they were so far beneath my skin. The red light helped to reduce the inflammation a bit, but that was mostly it.

This product is very effective when used consistently in your healthy skin regimen. I also use the Neutrogena 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Mask (with moisturizer and SPF) twice per day, as well as a Glycolic Acid or Salycylic Acid facewash. The Murad sulfur or Peter Thomas Roth clay mask is also wonderful once per week.

Overall, I'm really glad that Neutrogena has made this technology available for at-home use. The only cons are that it's a bit drying, and you must purchase refills for the activator. However, it's a small price to pay for healthy skin.
