Lid Lock Clay Eye Base

0.14 oz Item 2512616

Find in Store-

Tarte Lid Lock Clay Eye Base builds long-lasting coverage on lids (just like their iconic foundations) in a warm matte 'buff' shade that complements a range of complexions. With an easy, brush-free application, wear it as a creamy, opaque eyeshadow to neutralize lid discolorations, or as a color-gripping eyeshadow primer for payoff that won't fade. Powerhouse Amazonian clay balances skin to absorb oil and infuse moisture, providing a crease-free canvas to #slaywithclay and make your shadow work even harder.
Apply directly to lids using your fingertips - no eyeshadow brush needed! Wear it as a creamy neutral eyeshadow for a no-makeup look or as an eyeshadow primer, completely covering lids before applying your color.

I've used better products like this that feel smooth and are easy to apply and this is not one of those. Works but just don't like the feel on my skin.

Comments about Tarte Lid Lock Clay Eye Base:

I used Tarte's eye primer for years. it was similar to Too Faced Shadow Insurance but I liked it slightly better. When I went to pick up more, I found out they discontinued the old one and came out with this one. It's way more difficult to spread onto the eyelids as it's like a very thick paste rather than a lotion like the old product. performance-wise I had a lot of fading and creasing. I have really oily eyelids though so that's not uncommon for most primers.

This stuff is amazing. It dries quickly but doesn't budge. I put it on, applied eye shadow, and went about my day. Part of that was washing my car in 90 degree weather. Went inside and looked in the mirror....it was flawless. No crease, still matte, still vivid with color. Recommend for sure!

Comments about Tarte Lid Lock Clay Eye Base:

I absolutely love this Clay base product! I use it every day as a base before applying eyeshadow to my lid. In my opinion it is much easier to use this than to use a liquid eyeshadow primer that you have to wait for it to dry before applying eyeshadow, this you don't have to wait. It makes almost any eyeshadow look more pigmented than it is and it keeps sparkly eyeshadow from having fallout.

Comments about Tarte Lid Lock Clay Eye Base:

I had been using MACs Painterly eye cream and it always creased on my lids. It drove me nuts. So I decided to try this by Tarte and I'm in love. It goes on very matte and dry! Don't rub, just dab gently. It stays on, doesn't crease and eye shadow goes on smooth. I will say I was put off by its dryness at first but it's not going to smudge in the way a more creamy primer would. Hence the lack of creasing! I love it and will forever use it now!

Comments about Tarte Lid Lock Clay Eye Base:

I was a little skeptical about this at first. I guess I have fairly oily lids, because most primers don't stop my shadows from creasing by the end of the day. There was a bit of a learning curve with this. It has a bit of a dry layer at the top (which is common with potted cream products), but it got such good reviews that I decided to work with it for at least a week. After I really warmed it up with my finger and got through that layer, I haven't had any problems with it. Now for the best part... This covers up the veins on my eyelids, makes my shadows blend beautifully over the top, and actually keeps my shadow in place. It's more than just it not creasing. At the end of the day, the beautiful blending of colors and the color placement is still perfect. I've never had my shadow look that nice at the end of the day! Yes, there's a yellow tone to it, so I really think they should do more colors, but this one works great for me since I have yellow undertones. I'm extremely happy with this, and I can definitely see myself repurchasing it when I run out.

                        A:

This primer is mostly for lid as it's a primer to help the color of your eye shadow to pop and stay longer!
