Let Them Eat Cake Lipstick

Item #: 2278856 Size: 0.12 oz

"I've always been fascinated by the opulence of the court of Versailles and it was Marie Antoinette's infamous misquote that ran through my head when I created this lipstick." Poppy King, Lipstick Queen Founder

The lavender trend gets a Lipstick Queen makeover with Let Them Eat Cake, a delicate lilac lipstick shot through with sugary rose gold sparkles that will light up your entire look. Paying homage to Marie Antoinette's lavish taste and her total rejection of the ordinary, Poppy created this ground-breaking and truly extraordinary lipstick that captures that same spirit of rebellion and decadence. Pretty pastel is given a special metallic finish with a rock and roll edge that shimmers flirtatiously on the lips. Can be worn alone or as a topcoat, it will transform your favorite Lipstick Queen shade with its unique metallic pearl effect. The icing on the cake, if you will!
  • With anti-oxidant vitamin E and nourishing apricot kernel oil
  • Suits all complexions
  • Cool tones of lilac are cleverly countered with rose gold lustre pigments that catch the light and create voluptuous lips
  • The lilac trend made flattering

This is a very unique color! It does match its name as it has a mix of color and shimmer. I find it a little drying for my taste.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Let Them Eat Cake Lipstick:

Obviously, after paying what I did, I so wanted to love this lipstick. It looks absolutely amazing on me. HOWEVER, it not only wears off very quickly, but there is a lot of glitter fallout onto my chin and the area around my lips. Quite disappointing! I plan to try wearing a gloss over the top of it but will need to find a clear one before I can do this.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Let Them Eat Cake Lipstick:

This color looked awesome on my olive skin. It reminded me of the Chanel long wearing lipstick color that I love but it wore off too quickly and too much glitter was left on my lips. Felt like I had ornament lips. Had to return it.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Let Them Eat Cake Lipstick:

I didn't love how it looked on me at first, applied on a simple face with casual hair and dress. I wore it to a wedding and it looked ethereal in conjunction with my purple hued eye makeup. It is smooth to apply and it looks different over lip liners, lipsticks, lip stains etc. I now appreciate it on its own. I feel glamorous when I apply it and it looks lovely throughout the day. Even if the pigment starts to fade from eating and drinking, you are still left with the micro specks. My lips are rather thin and it would probably be more flattering on fuller lips (hello lip-liner). It may not be for everyone, but I am charmed by this lipstick.

Let Them Eat Cake is an icy rose that would be perfect for Giselle in Act II of the ballet Giselle. It's pretty, yet haunting. The pigment is highly concentrated, so if you can pull off lavender lips, you'll love this.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Let Them Eat Cake Lipstick:

I bought this lipstick the other day and returned it within the week. I never return makeup, but this one just didn't take the cake. After watching and reading a lot of reviews, I was convinced that this would be an amazing lipstick! However, when I got it home and actually put it on I was in shock. It made my lips look so, so wrinkly! Wrinkly is the only word I can think of to describe what happened. My lips had been properly exfoliated and moisturized, I just think this lipstick maybe had too much glitter?? It felt like a chunky tube of glitter without much lipstick to help glide it along. I wanted to love this lipstick!! Will definitely give others from this brand a try, though :]
