Good purchase

Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

I was straightening my hair with my Chi Thursday morning and poof! Sparks start flying. It bit the dust. This isn't the first time I've had issues with a Chi, so I thought I'd try something different. I sort of just grabbed this one on a whim at the store, and I am really glad I did. My hair is thick and the wider plates on this flat iron really cut down on the time it normally takes me to fix my hair. I am very pleased with this product.

Wanted to try the 1" version of this flat iron. It's horrible. I'll be taking it back. It snags the hair. The plates don't come together. You have to squeeze it really hard and even thing it doesn't do the job. The 1 1/2" is awesome. Went back to that and will continue to look for a 1" flat iron.

Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

This is a great flat iron if you have thick to medium and coarse hair. Do not use on fine hair! This flat iron did not run through my hair smoothly. It sounded like sand paper as I straightened. Especially, when I got to my ends! It also snagged and pulled my ends as well. I swear my hair sounded like it was breaking. Although, I can say it left my hair pin straight with a shine. That I liked. But not worth it for me given the cons as I mentioned above. I can see this being a great flat iron for thick/coarse hair though.

I get my hair professional Japanese straightened but when the roots started growing I needed a straightener that wouldn't fry up my hair. This straightener does and good job and provides shine.

This is my second rusk flat iron and I love it more than my old one! i have really curly hair that is bleached and this straightens my hair on a lower setting than any other flat iron I've ever used! It heats up super fast and maintains heat very well.

Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

I have really long thick hair. It's frizzy too and normally slightly dry (no matter what I use). This flat iron really helped smooth out my frizz, especially the hair underneath by my neck. It's not a one pass flat iron for me, but it gets the job done well. My hair slides smoothly through the plates and does NOT snag. I also use it to curl my hair and it works exceptionally well for that. I purchased the 1 1/2 inch plates. LOVE it. Works better than my old Chi.

Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

I own a Chi and a Sedu. I have raved about these products and they do genuinely work very well. I have natural hair (no color or straightening/curling treatments) that's thick and curly and at the top of my waist. My hair dresser when she styles my hair was always getting a glossier, straighter look than when i was doing it. We use the same products mine the shampoo and conditioner and i could not figure out what she was doing. I just assumed she had some special magic in her hands. She used to use a chi on me and she switched a while ago to this rusk iron. I thought it was just a cheaper iron, boy was i wrong. I recently looked up what is the best of my hair texture and i kept seeing ceramic + tourmaline is the best you can get. So i picked up this iron and my hair is extra soft, even more straight and and just as glossy.

I'm going to pass my Sedu and make my Chi the back up flat iron.
