Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

This is the second one I've purchased. (The first was broken during moving) I've used it for over 2 years and I love it. It heats up fast and really works to smooth out any frizz in my hair. I don't need to spend a lot of time straightening, after a few sweeps through my hair I'm good to go. What a huge difference over the cheaper drug store irons I have tried in the past. This iron is great for daily use and always works wonders in a short amount of time. My hair feels soft and frizz free every time.

Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

It makes my hair straight in one pass on a lower setting. The other flat irons I have used, I had them on high, up to 450 degrees to get my hair straight. I have my rusk on 415 and my hair is straight with one pass. Use caution this flat iron gets hot. Start on a lower temp and work your way up. Ceramic works great on my hair. If titanium works better on yours you may not want to buy this. I have owned several chi flat irons, conair, remington, babybliss, brilliance new york, brocato, paul mitchell, John freida and this rusk is the best out of the bunch.

This is a excellent iron, I had mine for years until I dropped it and it still would of lasted. It heats up very quickly and makes your hair very straight without damaging it.

Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

Don't be fooled by the low key appearance, and low key brand (not as popular as the CHI and Babyliss). This is a high quality, professional iron. I've owned a CHI for nearly ten years that delivered great results, then had to replace it. I tried the Ultra CHI which was worse than the other CHIs I've used, and they discontinued the iron I was looking for. Ended up giving the Rusk a try and I am in love.

I have long curly, coarse hair and let me tell you, this iron made my hair so smooth with one pass. You can control the heat, and it worked so well for me without having to go past approximately 360 degrees. My hair didn't smell or feel burned while using. This iron is lightweight, sleek and felt nice holding it (also the exterior never felt too hot to touch). Multiple heat settings, a long cord, long plates and you have an option of buying the 1 inch or the wider 1 1/2 inch. Even though my hair is longer, I prefer 1 inch irons. The on button and the temp dial buttons are on the outside of the iron, but the dial has enough resistance that you won't accidentally turn it as you use the iron. You won't accidentally turn it off either, so it's fine. I was nervous about the plates not being as close to the edge of the iron as I'm accustomed to, but I didn't experience any snagging. The 1 inch iron gives very nice curls too.

To compare, while the earlier CHI irons gave me great results on a one temp setting basis (392?), and the Ultra CHI gave me terrible results at 390, the Rusk gave me great results in the 345-360 range. I think the ONLY small negative is that the plug is basic, so there's no reset button and most likely not as travel friendly unless you get an adapter. Otherwise, everything is grade A and hopefully they never discontinue this iron.

Comments about Rusk Heat Freak Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightening Iron:

Too light weight and felt like an inexpensive plastic iron. My hand would get pinched in the mechanism. I had a heavy duty Solia for years for the same price so I expected the Rusk to be comparable.

We can adjust the heat settings so I can use it on my very fine hair and my daughter can use it on her thick hair. It makes my hair look awesome! I was about ready to cut it all off, but this straightener has made me love my hair again!
