Oily, dull, congested skin will be refreshed and disinfected with daily use of this astringent. The powers of citrus extracts combined with glycolic acid helps rid the skin of dulling, pore-clogging dead skin cells and minimizes the appearance of fine lines and discoloration. Not recommended for acne-erupted skin.
Twice daily after cleansing, pat skin dry and apply lotion dampened cotton by wiping in an outward direction until cotton comes up clean. Avoid eye area. Follow with moisturizer or night cream.

Comments about Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion:

Hi. I am 42 and get hormonal cystic acne. I am waiting for my spironolactone to start working so I came across this MB product online. I used it last night- a patch test first on my jawline and no reaction so I proceeded to my forehead and no reaction. It is a high PH acidic toner which by today is really kicking my cystic acne into control. It is going to take some time but anything is an improvement. Plus I used their Whitening mask this morning for acne scars and that was extra brightening with kojic acid and licorice. I think when You ( like myself) are schlepping back and forth to the dermatologist taking every drug known to man and then you find these MB products it's a breath of fresh air! :) Oh and I bought the control moisturizer for oily skin too and and it felt really good going on. It wasn't too heavy. And it looks matte. I think the stuff they sell at your local store (salicylic acid products) do nothing but irritate. MB products soothe and help your face to heal. Like I said also if you're taking heavy retinoids you can take this toner, well my skin is on Tazorac 0.5% alternating with Tazorac 0.1%. I've been on Retin-A most of my adult life so this toner is small potatoes for me as far as stinging. For you who have super sensitive skin and take retina-A you might want to just try their Glycolic toner or the Grapefruit toner. I heard someone say this toner made their skin oily. No way. That would only happen if you didn't moisturize and put some zinc sunscreen on afterwards. Oh, btw the minimal stinging goes away in about 3 minutes, just chill for a few and then like I said put on the moisturizer. Good luck!

Comments about Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion:

I use it at night to help fade dark acne scars and fine lines. It has helped to brighten my skin over all and it hasn't caused any burns or irritation. I've only used it for a week, however, it seems to be helping my skin purge, possibly because it's removing dead skin cells. My only con is that it would be nice to know exactly how much glycolic acid is in the product especially for those who are using additional acne treatments.

Comments about Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion:

I bought this because I wanted to try something stronger than the glycolic toner. Well, it's definitely stronger. It brightens up the skin, and leaves it really clean. I use it with my other MB products ( vit c oil, glycolic renewal skin cream). My face is not sensitive, and I don't have acne so it works great for me. Since it's strong I use it 3 times/week in the evening.

I was originally using the MB Glycolic Toner but when I went to my local Ulta to restock, they were sold out so I tried this instead. I love it! It is a little strong than the glycolic toner so my skin did need some time to adjust. My dark spots are fading faster and this really takes care of the dry flakiness from using retinol.

Comments about Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion:

I bought this looking for a cheaper alternative to Pixi's Glow Tonic toner without realizing that this has alcohol in it while Pixi does not. The first few uses it really stung my face but now its minimal, but I do feel as if its drying my face out a bit. Definitely something I would not purchase again.

Comments about Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion:

Really hated this. I tried to give it time, too, because I know face products can take a few weeks to be effective. I have oily skin and large pores. This burned and made my skin dry. Even though it made my skin dry, it never seemed to absorb into my skin - like it floated on top, all sticky and greasy. Returned it, bought Clinique's pily skin line again, and saw an immediate difference.

Comments about Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion:

I do not have sensitive skin and I rarely break out. I was looking for a toner to improve my skin tone and gave this a shot, but I was very disappointed. After two weeks of use, my skin has a dozen small bumps and is extremely irritated. I follow with moisturizer after every use but it does little good.

Since this product features the exfoliating properties of both glycolic acid and grapefruit extract, we would not recommend this for young teenagers or those with sensitive skin.

                  A:

Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion has a higher concentration of glycolic acid and grapefruit extract to make it a stronger version of the Glycolic Acid Toner. The Glycolic Acid Toner is a more popular choice, as the Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion may be too strong for some.

I have sensitive/reactive skin that is oily and congested on my chin, dry/red in my cheeks and normal on my forehead. I can get clogged pores in any area very easily, but always on my chin. Would this be a good toner maybe just on my chin? I also have the seaweed lotion for my cheeks.
