For my med-fine hair, doesn't perform well

By Sunnee

from Tarpon Springs, FL

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Like the digital readout for temp.

Cons

  • Requires many swipes for desired look

Best Uses

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic & Titanium 1.25" Hairstyling Iron:

For fine or med-fine hair, probably should look for all platinum plate. Ceramic sticks a little and requires to going over 2-3 times . Concerned could cause damage to hair by numerous swiping.

        Great Iron!

        By SuSu

        from Asheville, NC

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic & Titanium 1.25" Hairstyling Iron:

This is my first flat iron. My stylist told me to buy a Chi. It heats up quickly. It's very easy on my hair and does not snag my hair. I really love the beautiful results it gives me. My hair is shiny and straight. The 425 degree max heat is perfect for my wavy long thick hair which my stylist told me is very difficult to straighten. Very pleased with my new Chi!

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic & Titanium 1.25" Hairstyling Iron:

I tried two others first because I did not want to spend this much on a straightener. But the others would not really straighten my hair so it was silky smooth. This is not as smooth as my hairdresser can get it when she blow dries it but it is pretty darn close. So I am glad I spent the extra money for this one because my hair actually looks good. I have thick wavy hair but not wavy enough to look good without doing something to it. So I have to either curl it or straighten it.

Yes, the plates themselves feature beveled edges, and the outer part of the iron is rounded, so you can certainly use it to create curls!

          • Q:

Can this iron make curls like the 1inch. What is the major difference between the 2 chi widths?
Asked on 12/15/2015 by Georgette from York, pa

            1 answer

            • Staff Expert

              A:

It features larger width plates (1.25"), so you'll see looser curls/waves. The larger plates of this model are especially ideal for thicker hair and longer lengths.

          • Q:

I have very frizzy hair, after 10 minutes it gets really wavy. Will this product be good for frizziness? Does it cause much damage?

            • Staff Expert

              A:

This G2 model features titanium-infused ceramic plates heat quickly and evenly, ideal for styling of coarse hair including textured or frizz-prone hair. To help prevent thermal damage, we always recommend using a heat protectant styling product such as 44 Iron Guard:
