Comments about Laura Geller Filter Finish Setting Powder:

Very good and cute on everyone I've tried it on (from porcelain skin to deep brown) but my one problem is the building. If you add too much on you end up looking like a shimmer factory. Use with a light hand and it covers discolorations beautifully.

Wonderful, but not for finishing only

By Cateye

from Saint Paul

Comments about Laura Geller Filter Finish Setting Powder:

Love this as an allover corrector before contouring. I am almost 60, and worried this would be too shimmery. But applying it BEFORE anything else, it softly corrects small discolorations and gives a beautiful, subtle glow after applying finishing powder.

Try it this way, you'll love it.

Like others have said, I'm not sure why this is labeled as a setting powder. It is the most PERFECT subtle highlighter I've found. I just apply it to the tops of my cheekbones and on the tip of my nose. I love it.

Comments about Laura Geller Filter Finish Setting Powder:

I am very confused (as I'm sure others are) why this is called a setting powder as you cannot apply this all over your face... It will be very shiny!! I bought this as a highlight and didn't even notice it was marketed as a setting powder. As a setting powder, it sucks, as a highlight it is pretty good.

Yeah...I thought this was a setting powder. Really it's just a poor quality highlighter? It's glittery and weirdly frosty and silver. I returned this product. Would not recommend for any skin type or color.

Yes! This product works best as a finishing touch! Use a fluffy brush to lightly dust all over your complexion. This will give a finished, polished look and will make the skin look like it has a filter! Each color does something special and when mixed together they color correct the skin tone. You are going to love it!

Yes. This product is meant for all skin tones. If you are on the deeper end of the spectrum, I would recommend using a brush that is not too dense. A large, ultra fluffy brush will finish the complexion, color correct, and will not deposit too much pigmentation onto the skin. If your brush is too dense, it may be too light for you, but if you stick with w fluffy brush you will be fine! Enjoy!

I have been using the bright n balance in a medium for a finish to bring out more bronze tones in my skin as I have a very bland complexion. Would this be a good replacement to that or should I stay with the bright n balance?

                          A:

The main difference between filter finish and balance and brighten is that filter finish is simply a setting powder that slightly color corrects and adds luminosity, and balance actually gives coverage because it is a true foundation. I like using balance and brighten over spackle, and then I'll take filter finish and apply a light dusting over the balance as an extra step. This product also blurs skin imperfections. I do think you will love what filter finish does for the skin, however if you like the coverage you're getting from balance, I would suggest using both products together. Enjoy!

This is a finishing powder (can be used over a liquid foundation, over a powder foundation, or simply on its own) that adds slight luminosity to the complexion and color corrects. Each color does something special for the skin, and when combined, it blurs skin imperfections making everything airbrushed and filtered. You apply all over the face using a fluffy powder brush. Enjoy!

Yes, this powder is suitable for all skin tones! I recommend using a brush that is light and fluffy (not too dense). This way, the brush will lightly grab and deposit the pigments onto your complexion and you'll avoid any possibility of the powder being too light. It is so sheer, so it will blend in with the rest of your skin tone. It will color correct and will add a slight, natural looking luminosity to the skin. I recommend giving it a try! Enjoy!

We recommend using a brush that is big enough for the entire face, light in density, and fluffy. The more dense the bristles, the more product those bristles will pick up, and it will apply more product onto the skin. Since this is not a foundation, a brush with light-medium bristle density is perfect for a light dusting through the entire face. Enjoy!

Yes, it definitely does work with oily skin! I have actually used it as an oil-absorbing powder. This will get rid of shine and oil, but because it has a luminous finish, the it will leave the skin with a light glow/luminosity without looking oily. You will love the luminous-matte finish you'll get from Filter Finish, and it will work great with oily or non-oily skin. Enjoy!
