Initially loved the smoky lavender!

By hedgie

from Mobile. AL

Comments about L'Oréal Feria Smokey Pastels:

First application on my light blond hair resulted in lovely smoky lavender as shown on package, yet second application to touch up light roots turned deep purple - impossible to remove color, even with two recommended color removers for permanent color. Fear only way to return to blond will be to cut long hair to just let roots grow out.

Comments about L'Oréal Feria Smokey Pastels:

I lightened to the recommended level before applying this product using the feria lightening box recommended. I am lucky in that the lavender seems to have toned the crazy carrot orange to a reddish blonde, but it isn't even remotely close to lavender. I wish I'd read the reviews first.

Comments about L'Oréal Feria Smokey Pastels:

i had to go through two rounds of dying my hair with this. The first round dyed my roots the right color, but didn't take anywhere else. The second time it dyed my roots more, so they're much brighter pink, and left the rest of my hair an orangey blonde color with streaks of blonde and pink. Don't even try to make this stuff work because it won't.

Used this smokey blue on white blonde extensions and instead of the light gray, silver blue on the box it says you will get it got PURPLE..DARK PURPLE. Turned out nothing like the photos on the box. I never use box dye but thought this would be great to get that light smokey blue the box says you get on my real hair expensive extensions.. WRONG. Stay away...

I used this color with the intentions of gaining a new look. My hair was a light blonde and once the color was applied, it appeared to have colored some of my hair, but there were underlying tones of brown and blond and after a week, the color just disappeared all together

My color came out great, if your hair is blonde it may work for you. But my hair is short so if your hair is longer I suggest 2 boxes, you must distribute a large amount. I also half rinsed and re-applied for a few minutes. But great color!

I did the lightening step of using this product. Hair went from light brown to bright orange (apparently didn't leave the bleach on long enough). What color will I end up with if I proceed to use the lavender? And if I use blue will it counter my orange hair like a toner would and I would end up with a lighter brown?

We do not recommend using any of our Feria Smokey Pastel shades on orange hair. We are not sure what your result would be. You can bleach again in 2 weeks to finish the lightening process. If you would like to go back to a light brown, you can color in 2 weeks with Feria 60 Crystal Brown.

To get the soft, smokey blue pictured on the box for the P1 its recommended to use this shade on hair that's natural light blonde or hair that has been bleached to a light blonde. Darker hair will not see the same results.

I have salt and pepper hair, I was wondering if I use the Dusty Lavender would it just tint the grays and look like lavender highlights, that is kind of the result that I would hope for??

We do not recommend using this shade on gray/white hair. The result might be a much brighter purple, instead of a pastel purple. It may not do anything to the darker pieces at all. We hope this helps!
