I used this on my medium brown hair and it literally did nothing. Apparently I'm the only one but was seriously bummed out. My roots lightened to a dark blonde but that was it. Perhaps I got a a defective product? Either way based on my experience I would not recommend to a friend.

This hair color comes out bright yellow--way too brassy. Even using the anti-brassy conditioner a couple times. Had to dye over it.

Comments about L'Oréal Feria Absolute Platinum:

Knowing that I have naturally medium/ dark brown hair as well as dyed dark brown hair, I didn't expect a lot from even the "7 shades lighter" claim. Yes, my hair did turn orange. My roots did turn a nice golden blonde but only because they were previously untouched by color. I did like their toning conditioner but I also used my own purple shampoo on it to see what it would do. I still ended with an orange look that will be altered, but I was impressed with how NOT damaged my hair was (it was already on the way to being fried) and how light it got even though it did stay brassy.

        Made My Hair Super Yellow

        By Jessica

        from Cincinnati, Ohio

Comments about L'Oréal Feria Absolute Platinum:

I was highly disappointed with this purchase. Having already naturally light blonde hair, I dye my hair to make it just a tad bit lighter. This dye did NOT give my hair a platinum look. Instead, my hair came out yellow looking. I immediately had to redye my hair as quicky as I could because there was no way I was keeping my hair this color. LAST time I EVER use anything Feria.

My daughters hair was previously bleached at the salon. It was getting costly touching up her roots so I found this product. Watched YouTube videos first about it and many people happy so we tried it. It blended in perfectly with her bleached hair. Her roots were very dark. We left it on for an hour. Very pleasantly surprised how well it worked.

Comments about L'Oréal Feria Absolute Platinum:

I've been platinum for a few years and I've gotten my hair platinum and maintained it myself. I ran out of developer and toner and was low on cash so I thought I'd give this a try. I will never use it again. Not only does it not work well but it is harsh on the hair and does not deliver on color.

I used Féria High Lift Brown (downtown brown) to lighten my hair from dark brown/near black to light brown. I'm trying to lighten my hair to close to platinum in stages. Can I use Féria absolute platinum after the high lift brown? I'm afraid of damaging my hair too much.

Hello! Since you have naturally very dark hair, we do not recommend using this product. We do not think that it will give your hair a platinum result after one use because of your natural color. We do not recommend doing multiple bleaching sessions at home. We suggest going to The Salon at Ulta Beauty to get your hair lightened!

                  A:

Dyed hair is harder to lighten than natural hair, the lighteners have more work to do. The Feria Absolute Platinum in the extreme platinum can lighten natural hair up to 7 level lighter. The result on dyed hair will not be as dramatic. As long as the hair is still in good condition, you can continue to lighten it until you reach the desired level of blonde.

Hello Mary! You can absolutely use this product. The most important thing to do is the strand test. The strand test will help you determine the perfect amount of time to leave the product on for so that you don't see any brassy/orange tones coming through. We hope this information is helpful!

Hello kells! If your hair is previously colored black than you may need extra timing in order for it to be able to lighten such a dark coloring. The same concept applies for naturally black hair. We would strongly recommend doing a strand test to see how long your hair specifically will take to lighten the color to your desired results. We hope this information was helpful!

I used 40V to bleach (x2) and tone my hair.
I still have LIGHT orange streaks on the undersides here & there..
Would this product remove those oranges from my head or is this simply a bleach? Is it also a toner as well?

                  A:

The Feria Absolute Platinum comes with a 30 volume developer. This product is a lightener and not a dye so there is color deposit. When lightening the hair, its important to use enough product to saturate the hair completely.
If there are sections that have not lightened into the pale blonde range once you have rinsed out your lightener you can go over those areas with a fresh kit.
The Feria Absolute Platinum will lighten hair up to 7 level lighter and the finishing conditioner will provide anti brass toning. If your hair is light enough everywhere except for a few sections, only use your lightener on those orange or brassy sections. Leave the lightener on until these sections match the rest of your hair, then rinse and condition.
