  • Use the iron only for the purpose described in this guide to prevent accidents, damage, or malfunction.
  • This appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
  • Avoid multiple cables to a plug or use of an extension cord to prevent starting a fire from overheating.
  • Keep away from water to prevent fire, electric shock, damage, or malfunction.
  • Keep away from children.
  • Do not handle the iron or cord with wet hands, as this may cause electric shock.
  • Do not leave the iron in a position where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
  • Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not wrap the cord around the iron.

  • Do not keep the iron in a damp place, such as a bathroom, or it may malfunction.
  • Stop using the iron and remove from the power source when there is an earthquake or thunder.
  • Unplug the iron from the power source when cleaning or wiping to prevent fire or electric shock.

Daily Cleaning: To keep the plates clean, unplug the iron from the power source. Once the plates are cool, wipe them down after each use with a hot, damp towel. Do not wipe the iron with thinner, benzene, gasoline, lamp oil, and other solvents or chemicals, as that may cause accidents or malfunction, or damage the iron and void the warranty.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Express Ion Style+:

When my favorite flat iron died over the summer I went on what felt like an endless hunt for a replacement. I bought and returned several irons until I finally broke down and gave Paul Mitchell a try. At the time only the Smooth+ was available and I decided to give it a try even though I really wanted a 1 inch plate. The Smooth+ exceeded my expectations in that it did not snag my hair AT ALL! Over time I really wished I had a 1 inch plate because while the Smooth+ is great, I have a lot of shorter broken hairs that require me getting at the root to smooth them and the 1.25 inch plate was just a little too big to get the job done efficiently. I went back to Ulta to look around and was surprised to see the Style+ iron as I had no idea that it existed. I quickly read the reviews and was a little disappointed that people didn't seem to like it (although, to be fair it seems this iron replaced an older model and people that had been fans of the previous model think this is just not the same). I was curious if this iron was exactly the same as the Smooth+ just with a smaller plate width. I took to Paul Mitchells website to dig a little deeper and it did seem to me that the two irons were the same, just different plate sizes. I took another chance while I had a 20% off coupon and I was once again not disappointment. This iron, to me, is exactly the same as the Smooth+ but fit my wish list of having the smaller plate size. The only small difference I notice between to two irons is that the Style+ doesn't close quite as snug as the Smooth+ so this results in having to apply a little more pressure. But, for me this is not a big deal since it is more important to have found the plate size I needed in an iron that does not snag my fragile hair and leaves it smooth, straight and not looking lifeless. I have determined over the years that everyone's hair is unique and what works for some may not work for you but this iron is my new fave!

Comments about Paul Mitchell Express Ion Style+:

I bought this because the express ion style was no longer in stock, and had been replaced with the express ion style+. The express ion style+ does not get a tight grasp on your hair, therefore leaving your hair to look puffy. The express ion style had a tight grasp leaving your hair with a very straight look. Come to find out the style+ does not have the silicone strips the ion style had. Wish they would bring the old one back.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Express Ion Style+:

I purchased this product due to the fact that the express ion style had been discontinued when the express ion style+ came out. What a disappointment. In no way compares to the original in my opinion. Does not have the silicone strips on plates that the original flat iron had. After straightening my hair with the express ion style+ my hair was not as straight as with the original. Wish they would bring back the express ion style back. I returned it for a refund.

This iron was recommended to me and I am over the top happy.I have ruined my hair in the past ironing it and was very cautious to start again. No only does this iron work well so that I can use in on a low setting it seems to actually aid in the conditioning of my hair when paired with protectant products and conditioners.
