Comments about Paul Mitchell Express Ion Smooth+:

I absolutely love this flat iron. It is perfect for my needs. It doesn't snag my hair or pull on it. The temp goes up to 410 degrees and that is plenty hot. A lot of people don't understand that 450 is way too hot for hair.
I at first got the neuro titanium one. It worked well, but I have fine and bleached hair. My hair dresser told me to get ceramic instead. Titanium can be very harsh on hair, especially color treated and fine hair. I also did a bunch of online research and found the same recommendation. Ceramic is best for fragile hair.
This one gets plenty hot and keeps my hair smooth and silky.
I've owned Chi, Rusk, Croc, ghd, T3, Infrashine and others. I'm a flat iron junkie. My first ever professional flat iron was Paul Mitchell about 15 years ago. I loved it then and I still love it.

I was looking for a new straightener and a friend recommend me this one so I gave it a chance and I have to say that I love it! It leaves my hair super straight and soft and my coworkers even noticed the difference since I straighten my hair everyday!

Comments about Paul Mitchell Express Ion Smooth+:

Let me start off by saying that I seriously dragged my feet on buying this iron. My Sedu finally died and I was left trying to find a replacement. Several other irons were bought and returned for various reasons and I eventually broke down and asked my new hairdresser what she would recommend. When she told me this is her favorite iron I almost dismissed it because I have tried the Paul Mitchell Neuro Shine in the past and HATEDED it! It snagged my hair and left it feeling dry and looking dull.

I am not easy to please when it comes to a flat iron because I use it DAILY! I have wavy but coarse hair that always seems to take several passes with even the best flat iron which is tough on my hair. Even when it came down to ordering this iron I hesitated with it in my cart and almost decided to give another brand a try instead. I am SOOOOOOO glad that I went with it because I was pleasantly surprised.

While this iron maxes out at 410 degrees (I have always had my set at about 425-430) it seemed to be just as hot if not hotter than those that I ran higher, it has NEVER once snagged my hair and I only need more than a single pass when I get to the very top of my hair (this is where I wear it thickest and this area takes the most abuse). I was also unsure how I would feel about a plate size wider than 1 inch as that is what I have always used but after a few days of practice, I am not sure I could ever go back now. The slightly wider plate allows me to smooth larger sections at a time thus decreasing the overall time it takes me to straighten my hair. My hair looks smooth, straight, shining and most importantly NOT dry.

This iron has a decent cord length (not quite as long as some others I have used but still plenty long enough. The temperature can be set in 10 degree increments (max temp 410 degrees) and the weight of this iron seems lighter to me than most.

While everyone's hair is different, I would definitely recommend giving this iron a chance!
