      Iffy application

      By Lhvoyles

Comments about Real Techniques Expert Face Brush:

I wanted a higher coverage application than my Beauty Blender was offering, so I decided to try this. I normally think Real Techniques performs beyond their price point, but this one fell short. I have used it with two different foundations and the look it gave was far from airbrushed. I also just don't like how it feels on my face. I have switched back to BB and I just use concealer for the spots that I wanted more coverage in.

I was skeptical at first because I use the Real Techniques beauty sponge and love it. I wasn't sure if a brush was the best to apply liquid foundation but it proved me wrong! It blends easily, very soft on the skin, and is easy to use. I love this brush and plan on buying a few more!

Bought a CC cream that is branded by a company known for their brushes, however, I was not willing to pay almost $50 for the brand's brush. This brush has a similar shape and a slightly coarser feel, but not so much that makes a difference to me. We are talking about a $30 difference. It does the job!!!

                          Hi Tasnim,

I think the Expert Face Brush would be great with BareMinerals powder. A bit part of the application of the powder is the buffing and blending, which this brush is *perfect* for.

                          Hope that helps!

That literally is the exact combo I use and I love it. The Powder Brush is good if you want very light coverage, but if you're like me and want fuller, the Expert Face Brush is awesome for that.

                          Hi Jen,

I love the Expert Face Brush for liquid foundation. Overall, I've found the rounded (non-angled) brush head is better for all over application. You are definitely spot on for that one! :)

For the blush brush, I actually have two favorites, depending on the look. If you want overall rosy cheeks, color that looks like a natural hue, the Real Techniques Blush Brush is amazing (http://www.ulta.com/blush-brush?productId=xlsImpprod3220067). The tapered head gives you control, but not too contoured.

However, if you want very precise application, like color over a contour, the Sculpting Brush you mentioned (http://www.ulta.com/sculpting-brush?productId=xlsImpprod11861065) is awesome.

                          Hope that helps!

                          HI Batwoman,

Great question! The Expert Face Brush is one of the most amazing brushes we make and can be used for just about anything! You could use it for tinted moisturizer, but I think that perhaps the bristles may be a bit too dense, and it might end up trapping the product in the bristles more than you would like. The Stippling Brush is a great alternative, based on how much more dispersed the bristles are.

You could also use our Foundation Brush - this is one that allows you to almost "paint" product onto your face, rather than buff in, and I think the cut and bristle type would work well with moisturizer. That item can be found here: http://www.ulta.com/foundation-brush?productId=xlsImpprod3220071

                          Thanks!

This is one of our most awesome and amazing brushes that we have in this line - it's actually our #1 selling Real Techniques brush!

The bristles themselves are dense and short, which gives you very targeted coverage (more medium to full).

If you're looking for light to medium coverage, the other brush I might recommend comes in our Flawless Base Set (it's the larger Buffing Brush). I actually use that brush every single day - I like it because its bristles are a bit longer and not as dense, which gives me the really natural look I like. You can find that kit here:

Just wondering how dense this brush is. Sometimes brushes just push product around your face rather than blending it. I want to use this brush as a post-setting powder blender. Would it be good for that or do you have a better brush for that purpose? Thanks!
