I loved the old version of this brush, but the quality is very bad in this newer one with the different packaging. The brushes are not as soft and not as dense as the old one was. This new one is very scratchy and the it doesn't give you full coverage like the old one. Very disappointed. Will not be buying anymore of the new packaging brushes.

After spending hundreds on high-end name brand makeup brushes, a friend turned me onto Real Techniques. Same amazing quality as the high-end brands for less than half the cost! Less than $20 for brushes that achieve the an air brushed look. Easy to blend liquid foundation or use to contour. I own two other brushes from them, I'm hoping to expand!

I first purchased this and the sculpting brush in June 2016. The bristles were dense and applies my makeup beautifully. I decided to purchase more November 206. When I received the brushes, they looked and felt very cheap like knockoff. If I didn't buy them from ULTA online I would be convinced these were fake. In comparison to my first brushes, these are HORRIBLE! There is no weight at all to the handle and the bristles are very sparse. Waste of money, I will not be buying from RT again; poor quality control. They must think they can cheapen the quality now that they have a good reputation

                        Hi Butterfly,

This is one of our most awesome and amazing brushes that we have in this line - it's actually our #1 selling Real Techniques brush! And one of the main reasons why is because it is so multi-functional. Not only can you use it for foundation, blush, etc, but it is one of the best blending brushes we have. So, yes, this would be great for blending out contour/highlight.

One other brush that I *love* when I'm doing my contouring is our Real Techniques Sculpting Brush (http://www.ulta.com/sculpting-brush?productId=xlsImpprod11861065). The bristles on this brush are very similar to the Expert Face brush, but I love how they are cut at an angle, so you can really work to highlight and enhance your cheekbones.

Either way, I think you will be happy with the brush's performance!

                        Thanks!

                        Hi Mrs Math Teacher,

Great question. I love the Expert Face Brush so much because it is so versatile - you can use it for pretty much any kind of foundation and blend it to get the coverage you want. I do think this brush would work well with a mousse.

If you're looking for lighter coverage with a mousse, you could also try our Stippling Brush (which is Ulta item #2230003). The bristles are a bit less dense than the Expert Face, so it may give you a more natural look (if that's what you're looking for).

Otherwise, I think the Expert Face would be great!

                        Thanks!

                        Hi Neesha,

That's a good question. I love this Expert Face Brush so much and use it for a number of things (foundation, contouring, etc). I actually would point you towards two other brushes, though, for bronzer. I think you need a brush which has bristles that are a little less dense.

The first one is our Real Techniques Powder Brush, found here: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220077. The bristles are more plush and allows you to get a gentle sweep of bronzer to give you that sun-kissed (but not over-made-up) look.

My personal favorite for applying bronzer is our Bold Metals Arched Powder brush, which you can find here: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod11831007. It's our highest quality brush & bristle combo, and it's a bit flatter than the Original Collection Powder Brush I just mentioned. That enables me to get a nice sweep of bronzer. Plus, these are our softest bristles ever, so the brush is absolutely luxurious to use!

                        Hope that helps!

                        Hi Neesha,

The Expert Face Brush is one of my most favorite brushes, simply because you can do so many things with it! Foundation, blush, contour, etc! But, I think, if you're going for a sun-kissed look with a bronzer, you would be better off using a brush that has a fuller head and is a little less dense & concentrated that the Expert Face brush.

Here are two that I would recommend:

                        1) our Real Techniques Powder Brush: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220077

I actually love the Bold Metals brush specifically for bronzer because it has our highest quality bristles to date and is so soft and light that it gives me the exact look I'm going for.

                        Thanks - hope that helps!
