This powerful serum helps to improve brightness, clarity and radiance by 60% in less than one week.* This fast-acting formula has double the brighteners to boost radiance and reverse visible signs of environmental damage. Resilient-C complex delivers highly stable vitamin C with 50 times the potency of prior generations-to improve skin radiance, support natural collagen production, and protect against free radical damage.

Hexapeptide-2 and Indian fig boost skin clarity and support natural renewal, overall brightness and balanced tone. Ectoin and green tea extract jump-start skin's natural defenses by helping it to resist drastic environmental stressors including UV exposure and chemical aggressors. It is recommended as a Step 2 treatment in any Murad Environmental Shield regimen to restore a smoother, brighter and more youthful complexion as part of Dr. Murad's inclusive health system of care.

Comments about Murad Environmental Shield Advanced Active Radiance Serum:

Use morning and night. I started seeing results in one week. This stuff is pricey, but worth the splurge if you have dark spots! I use in addition to Murad rapid pigment repair skin lightning serum and my spotty skin is looking brighter and lighter.

Works very well for brightening the skin, but even though it says it's also for wrinkles, it's really not. I noticed a chang in skin tone very fast, but it did nothing to my light wrinkles.

What is the difference between this product and the age spot and acne spot remover?

                      A:

There are many reasons but I believe the most significant is that the Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum has hydroquinone. And hydroquinone should not be used during pregnancy or breast feeding.

I would use them separately. Advanced Active Radiance Serum would be best in the AM since it's packed with antioxidants to help fight all those free radicals that we encounter throughout the day.

                      A:

Yes, the Advanced Active Radiance Serum is a perfect complement to the Rapid Age Spot and Lightening Serum. Use the Advanced Active Radiance Serum in the morning followed by a moisturizer with sunscreen and the Rapid Age Spot at night followed by a moisturizer.

                      A:

First let me start by stating that we disclose the percentage of an ingredient only when it is an "active ingredient" in other words, an OTC (over-the-counter), FDA (Food & Drug Administration) approved ingredient. Here at Murad, as part of our Corporate policy, we do not disclose percentages in our high performance formulations as this information is considered proprietary. What I can share with you is that Dr. Murad creates formulas based on a result not a percentage. Our products are designed to treat a specific concern within the skin, keeping in mind our Inclusive Health approach.
Additionally, we use various forms of Vitamin C to provide the skin with efficient results. The skin naturally relies on antioxidants to protect itself from environmental damage. Because Vitamin C – the most plentiful antioxidant in the body is depleted as it protects skin, it must be replenished. We formulate using L-Ascorbic Acid and other topical Vitamin C compounds with established stability and efficacy such as Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Chitosan Ascorbate. These various forms of Vitamin C retain the integrity necessary to deliver optimal benefits.

This serum will help with both. It contains glycolic acid that will help speed up cell turnover which will help to exfoliate the darker skin pigmentation. Indian Fig also helps to brighten skin and minimize darker spots.
Murad also makes a product called Rapid Spot Pigment and Lightening (Item #: 2082341)
                      - this was designed to lighten dark pigmentation.

We have not had any complaints from users with oily skin. It can leave a glow/radiance on the skin that some people with oily skin might think looks "shiny."

                    • Brand Expert

                      A:

Dark spots from ingrown hair are similar to dark spots caused by acne. We typically treat those dark spots from ingrown hairs the same way we would treat dark spots from acne. The best product for this concern is the Post-Acne Spot Lightening Gel, http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=prod2146523.
It will help to lighten those dark spots. Because it contains glycolic it will help to quicken cellular turnover which will get rid of dead skin faster. This will help to prevent ingrown hairs, too!
