Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur:

I absolutely loved how this BB cream looks and feels, it has amazing coverage which is important because I have really bad acne scarring. It actually does blur the imperfections like my usual foundation which is Mac Matchmaster (I use it with Mac studio tech concealer and Benefit porefessional primer). It did not cause breakouts either which almost everything does for me, even smashbox BB cream Maybelline dream cream (with 2% salicylic acid) makes me breakout sometimes. But there are only two shades, none of which is good for my brown skin, I've used the medium and it just looks wrong. Which is why I am giving this a 3, if there were more shades this could be the best BB cream I've used till date.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur:

I was very happy with this product when I first put it on. It went on really easily, you don't need a lot at all. It provided a nice matte finish and did appear to "blur" any tiny wrinkles and evened out pigmentation. It did not, however, remain a matte finish. My face appeared oily within the hour and the evening of pigmentation did not last either. I was very disappointed in this product.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur:

I love this. I use it in an everyday basis. Although I admit it doesnt replace your typical foundation due to its poor coverage. Its a good product if you dont want to use foundation everyday (thats my case). My dermatologist recommended it because I wanted a foundation that wont break me out. Its great for acne prone/oily skin.

I apply this with a brush after washing my face in the morning and I love the matte finish. Its lightweight and the light/medium one matches me perfect. It might look a little dark at first but after buffering with my brush it blends very well.

I received a sample of this somehow and was not expecting the amazing results I got with it. I've been hunting for something to help control my oily nose forEVER- I don't even know if that's what this is specifically meant for, but for the first time my highlighting is actually effective because it's not competing with the shine coming off my face. I could not be happier- I've finally found something that works!

The only complaint I have is that it is a dark color, even the light/medium is too dark for my fair skin. I blend it with a little lotion or concealer to lighten it up and that solves the problem for me.

                  good but not amazing

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur:

I got this as a sample and fell in love. It is a very unique product with a very moussey and light texture. It does feel like it sits more on the skin than absorbs into it like my it cosmetics cc. I was hoping this would be amazing for summertime for my extremely oily skin, however it just doesn't have the lasting power. Great for a quick go to the grocery store as it blurs great. Since it does sit on the skin it moves around a fair amount on my skin too. I will be using the rest of it over the summer as I don't think it's a bad product at all- just don't expect it to last all day (even with setting with a powder) and it only kept my oil at bay for maybe an extra hour.

                  • Q:

I am close to 50 with combination skin - dry on the edges and by mid day, very oily in the T-zone with very noticable large pores. (Acne is not a problem.) I'm looking for a skin routine that will give me the hydration I need for my aging skin, but not make me look so greasy. Can I use the Effaclar Mat as a moisturizer and then the BB Blur on top to help hide my pores? Or is there another combination of products you would recommend?

Yes, you can absolutely layer Effaclar BB Blur over Effaclar Mat Oil-Free Mattifying Moisturizer - this is a great combo for combination skin! Both products are lightweight, so you won't experience any heavy or greasy feel.

I just asked if this product was photogenic/wedding friendly and was told it was, under foundation. Would this serve to replace a primer or to be used over primer but under foundation? And is it compatible with hd foundations?

                      A:

Effaclar BB Blur provides moderate coverage on its own when worn alone. It can be layered underneath a foundation for fuller coverage, often desired for special events photography. When worn underneath foundation, it provides priming benefits to help ensure smooth application of foundation and to help extend foundation's wear. It is compatible with foundation of all formulas. We hope this extra info helps!

Absolutely! This product's blurring and mattifying benefits lend themselves wonderfully to photography. Applied beneath foundation, it helps to eliminate shine and to minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, blemishes, and any other skin imperfections.
