Comments about Mario Badescu Drying Mask:

THIS SMELL IS SO NASTY. UNLESS YOU HAVE A SUPER HIGH TOLERANCE FOR HORRIBLE SMELLS YOU WONT B ABLE TO USE THIS. THIS IS SUPER IRRITATING. IT WAS SO ITCHY, YOUR PROBABLY THINKING ITS A FACE MASK THAT IS DRYING. NO, EVEN AFTER I WASHED THE MASK OFF THE MASK IT WAS SO ITCHY AND LEFT MY FACE SO RED. IT WAS SO AWFUL. IT CLEARED MY BREAKOUTS. FOR ANYONE WHO CAN HANDLE THE SMELL ITS GREAT. I WOULD NOT USE THIS IF YOU HAVE A PEEVE FOR BAD SMELLS, SENSITIVE SKIN, DRY SKIN, OR NORMAL SKIN. UNLESS YOU HAVE INCREDIBLY OILY OR ACNE PRONE SKIN YOU SHOULD NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

Comments about Mario Badescu Drying Mask:

Those times when I wake up, or take my makeup off and notice something huge brewing I just add a dab of this right onto the culprit and it magically makes it shrink. Most times the next day my would-be ugly red lump is completely gone. I have pretty oily skin, but I still wouldn't use it as a mask on my whole face. I would think it would be too drying. Nope, just cover the zit, let dry, and remove and treat. Some bigger, more stubborn ones will take a few trramtents, but this stuff is a sure facesaver for me. It's seriously magical.

Comments about Mario Badescu Drying Mask:

It smells pretty bad. He first time I used it I gagged because the smell was that bad. It smells likes burnt tires/rubber. The more I used it the more I got used to it. I'm AA and I have suffered a great deal from embarrassing cystic acne & embarrassing hyperpigmentation after the acne cleared. There were no days acne wasn't an issue. I've been to the Dermatologist and all she would do is give antibiotics. I'm sorry but I'm not one that like to take pills. So I tried this along with Glycolic Wash, Buffering Lotion, and Cucumber Toner, and my skin is SO much better!

          This smells absolutely RANCID...

          By Yen

          from Massachusetts

Comments about Mario Badescu Drying Mask:

Recently I've been experiencing adult acne around my chin and mouth, which is incredibly frustrating because I dealt with this issue as a teenager as well. I've been using masks, creams, ect. I enjoy this mask for the benefits of drying out blemishes and creating smoother skin. However this scent is not appealing whatsoever. I have a very strong stomach and I actually feel nauctious using this because of the smell. Instead of a mask for my face I only apply it to blemish areas for twenty minutes then rinse. It's a cross between cigarettes and gasoline. please change this formula so
I can enjoy it a bit more like all other Mario Badescu products. Thank you!

            • Brand Expert

              A:

We would not recommend using the Drying Mask as a spot treatment. Our Acne Repair Kit features a collection of spot treatments: Drying Cream (small under the surface bumps), Drying Lotion (whiteheads), and Buffering Lotion (deep, cystic acne). You can purchase them together in the kit or separately to spot treat the different types of blemishes you may have.

            • Brand Expert

              A:

The Drying Mask should be applied to freshly cleaned, slightly damp skin, focusing on areas of concern. After 15-20 minutes, the mask should be rinsed thoroughly with warm water. For best results, follow with Special Cucumber Lotion to ensure the mask is thoroughly removed.

Our Drying Mask is best applied at night. Apply a thin layer of mask on clean skin, avoiding eye area. Wait 15-20 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water. After removing the mask, you can follow with your usual toner and moisturizer.

The Drying Mask should be used 2-3 times a week to help clear problematic skin. Should you only be experiencing skin issues on your forehead, you can apply the mask only to that area.

Hi, is this product more effective than the drying cream? Which one works faster and better?
Asked on 5/29/2016 by Dalia from New Haven, CT

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

It depends on the type and severity of your breakouts. The Drying Mask is extremely effective as an all over treatment to help shrink and dry out blemishes - and is great for wide-spread problems. Drying Cream is a spot treatment that is not rinsed off. We recommend that Drying Cream be applied sparingly to small patches of under-the-surface bumps.

              A:

Yes, you can use the Special Cucumber Lotion after you remove the mask with warm water. You can then apply moisturizer all over and spot treat with the Drying Lotion.
