I use this dryer only for travel due to lightweight compact design, bought two months ago, only used it a few times, but it has cracked on the handle where it folds. I think it was a stress fracture from folding the handle, loved everything except the quality:(

My hair is baby fine and this gives me volume while being non-harsh. Dries ut quickly. My hairdryer died and I needed a new quickly. Chose this because of its small design and also folds for travel. Perfect!

This dryer works well for me, both at home and for travel. It is lightweight (great for my arthritic shoulder) and has a folding handle, which makes storage and packing easy. It comes with a detachable diffuser, which was my reason for purchasing this model over other brands.

Comments about Hot Tools Dryer Travel Purple #HT1044:

I love my larger Hot Tools dryer but needed a smaller version for travel. I have fine, curly hair so must use a diffuser or the curls just blow away. This dryer comes with a diffuser but the blower is so high that it still blows my curls out. I tried the diffuser from my larger dryer as it has less holes for the air to go through but the blower still manages to blow too hard through it. If there was a low setting for the blower I would give it 5 stars.

If you're looking at the back of the dryer, the switch will be pointed towards 10:00 to make it 110 and at 8:00 when it is 220. We hope this helps!

No, that is not true. What you'll need to do is to turn the switch on the back of the handle of this dryer from 125V to 250V when in another country and the dryer will work as it does in the U.S.

                1 answer

                • Staff Expert

                  A:

On the handle of the dryer, the part that comes in contact with your palm, there is a black screw that says 125v or 250v and all one does when using it in Europe is to turn the voltage to 250v. This can be done with a flat head screwdriver, a stiff fingernail or even a paperclip to turn it.
