Ask a Question
It's not what you think it is. What if..

...it was a gel at touch but a hair oil in performance.
...it was caring, but a styling aid. Amplifying shine and doubling the smoothness* for up to 48 hours while providing body and control.
...the oil disappeared into the hair in seconds, thanks to the new DiffusX Technology, leaving no trace behind, just a wonderful, long-lasting effect.

What if it was dark, but light? Sebastian dark oil an evanescent styling oil that replenishes from the inside out to smoothen the cuticle and add body, then disappears from hair. Formulated with sandalwood, cedarwood and argan oil. Protects hair against UV damage.

*vs. untreated hair
Apply 1-2 pumps to dry or damp hair, through mid-lengths and ends, and style.

Precautions: Flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep out of reach of children.
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Isododecane, Parfum/Fragrance, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Hexyl Cinnamal, Coumarin, Limonene, Citronellol, Linalool, Eugenol, Geraniol.

    Comments about Sebastian Dark Oil:

I apply a nickel size amount from to my hair from the chin down and then smoothe the rest over the top once my hair is dry. If I'm straightening my hair, I straighten it before applying it to my hair. It smells nice, not overwhelming.

      Comments about Sebastian Dark Oil:

This stuff is AMAZING!!!! I have fine hair but a lot of it, bob cut, and it's color treated. 2 pumps of this cocktailed with their Eruptek & I have all sorts of soft, bouncy, shiny, voluminous hair. And the scent is incredible!

          Comments about Sebastian Dark Oil:

I don't do much with my hair, because I'm happy with how a wash/condition/air dry looks. Sometimes I use a blow-dryer when I'm in a hurry, and sometimes I use a leave-in conditioner if I'm out of the rinse-out kind. I got this on a whim to try, and in combo with my new Volare hair dryer my hair feels soft and silky. I dislike the perfume in this product, but it is not enough to turn me off the product entirely. I have an old bottle of Bain de Terre Recovery Complex which is a basic clear silicone serum and this produces the same result, though the Dark Oil feels more high-tech because it's a gel instead of a serum. Probably won't repeat-buy this unless they release an unscented version.

            Comments about Sebastian Dark Oil:

Like the other reviewers I have tried everything else- high end, low end, and in between to smooth my dry uber- frizzy and curly head of hair. Many years and wasted $$$ still searching for the one. Other products didn't smooth it, or if they did, they weighed my hair down. This product not only smooths the hair, but it does not weigh it down as it advertises. My hair is so smooth, silky, shiny, and bouncy. Smells wonderful. It also took about 15 minutes off my blow dry time. I'm so happy

              Comments about Sebastian Dark Oil:

Okay so I have used my fair share of hair products in my day. I have tried countless top of the line professional oils and serums (Moraccan Oil, Wella Oil Reflections, Josie Maran Pure Argan Oil, etc.). It was either $$$$, too light for my hair that I constantly had to apply it, or too heavy and weighed my hair down. My stylist recommended the Sebastian Dark Oil and promised me that I was going to love it. WOW!! Was she right!! I wash my hair every 3 days and apply 2-3 pumps (very long thick wavy hair) and blow dry and style my hair. Not only is my hair shiner, smoother, and overall healthier, I don't have to reapply this product until my next wash three days later. My hair stays smooth and shiny and I am able to restyle my hair each day without it drying out. My hair is so moisturized and healthy! This product is everything I have been searching for! There is not a better oil out there!!

I received this as a sample and thought another oil trying to be like Moroccan. And this so good. I absoultely love thicker oils. I am currently using up a thinner one which is by a organic company. Very good my hair is thicker. The smell is perfect!!! The Moroccan didn't have an smell which I am ok but now I want it. Yes goes a long way with Moroccan so for me it will take months to use up. It is smaller by .2 ounce compare to Moroccan and $4 higher but I can't wait to purchase this.

                    Comments about Sebastian Dark Oil:

I was hesitant about purchasing this because I don't tend to like hair serum/oils ad prefer creams. I bought this based on the oils featured (sandalwood, cedarwood) and I LOVE it. I applied this to towel dried hair and let it air dry and my hair (fine, thick, wavy and prone to frizziness/poofiness) and my hair dried to perfect, smooth waves. I've applied it to my hair dry and it instantly smoothed out my frizz without making my hair look or feed greasy.
