Comments about Hot Tools Crimson Fade Turbo Ionic Salon Dryer:

This dryer was ok for about a year, nothing spectacular but it got the job done. Yesterday I turned it on and it made a strange noise, before it let out a flame and began to smelter terribly. I had a cheap drugstore dryer before this that lasted around 4 years. Definitely disappointed.

I've had this dryer for a year. It isn't the best but it gets the job done. It started making strange noises about 2 months ago but was still working just fine. I turned it on this morning and it started to spark and smolder as I was drying my hair. Safe to say I won't be buying anymore hot tools products from here on out.

Comments about Hot Tools Crimson Fade Turbo Ionic Salon Dryer:

I would describe this dryer as OK. I tried the one in the store and liked it. There was enough difference between the warm and hot setting, and the air speed seemed fine. The one I purchased didn't get as hot on the hot setting as I'd have liked. I used it for just about two years and one day the buttons were just stuck. Couldn't turn it on. I knew someone else who had purchased the same dryer and hers died also at just about the same age. It was nice while it lasted, but didn't last long enough!

Used this dryers for 3 years before it broke. Styled my hair with it at most 5 days a week. It worked great when I used it. But three years and something popped inside and it made a horrific noise.

I was hoping this would reduce frizz as it advertises but I haven't found this to be the case. Also, the attachments get loose and fall of which is pretty annoying. And the cord is really long which makes me think it's meant for a salon scenario? But not ideal in a smaller home bathroom.

No, this dryer is not dual voltage. It operates at standard US voltage 110V.

                          A:

There is no ceramic in the dryer. However, ceramic only has an effect on the hair when it comes in contact with the hair. Since dryers produce air that touches the hair, a dryer would not be more productive with ceramic inside.

what is the difference between the crimson fade and the harlequin models?
Asked on 8/6/2014 by sheryl from tampa,fl

                        1 answer

                        • Staff Expert

                          A:

The real difference is that the Diamond Harlequin Dryer has two additional features. One to dial up or down the amount of ions that are generated by the dryer (more is better for long, thick hair, less is better for short, fine hair). Also, the Diamond Harlequin Dryer has a turbo boost feature that adds additional air velocity when pushed. Other than those two points of difference, they are both Ionic Salon Professional dryers.
