The box says that it's meant for brown hair but it didn't show up and my hair colour is in the range on the box.
This hair dye is really only meant if you have light brown hair or blonde.

Ok, so initially I was really excited about this product. It turned out great on my brown hair and was a vibrant teal color. It did fade to a more pastel/green color but I didn't mind. However, this does NOT wash out in 7-15 washes. It STAYS in your hair. I went to a professional stylist who tried to strip it out, and it didn't budge. She dyed over it with a warm-toned brown, and it's already starting to peek through! I've heard their color fader shampoo doesn't help at all. I'm frustrated about this "semi-permanent" color clinging to my hair and not going away.

LOVE this color. Wanted to dye my hair for halloween and ended up keeping it because i loved it so much! I had some old highlights on the ends of my hair and it really picked up the red and looked amazing!

Comments about L'Oréal Colorista Semi-Permanent For Brunette Hair:

I have light brown hair and wanted the pink to work but it really only works if you are willing to bleach your hair nearly white. So I went with the burgundy and it is gorgeous. On my hair it is a bit more purple/wine. I get compliments all the time. I am 40 and at the point where I don't care what's age appropriate. I also think this color makes my hair look thicker. Don't know what I'll do it they discontinue it. I did also try the red and it is really, really red. I take a shower every day but only use shampoo once a week so it does seem to last longer on me, more like 2 weeks and then I just touch up the fading parts.

A couple months ago I tried the teal on my brown hair. It turned out green. I tried to accept the green with applying some green make-up for a day. It washed out after a couple harsh washes. Just recently I did a blonde ombre to my hair and I'm attempting the tangerine on my ombre. wish me luck!

Comments about L'Oréal Colorista Semi-Permanent For Brunette Hair:

I have really blonde bleached hair and wanted something that I could use to change the look and not be committed too, so I have this a try. I purchased the pastel pink, which is more like a regular pink. So I mixed it with conditioner and placed it to my hair. This solves a lot of problems. First the color was much lighter. Second it really helped the wash out process and didn't make it as permanent. Third I didn't have to use a lighter or color stripper to get it out which kept the integrity of the hair. I love this and will be purchasing other colors.

Hi pax! We do not recommend using the shades for brunettes on lightened hair. If your ombre ends are blonde or were done with bleach, this can cause the color to last much longer that 8-15 washes. We hope this helps!

                  Hi Caitlin!
The semi-permanent Colorista is formulated for natural hair and the pastel shades are for bleach blonde hair. We would not recommend using on color-treated hair. Not that it's dangerous in any way, but color result will vary based on existing artifical color that's in the hair!

I dyed the bottom portion of my hair in an ombre fashion with the teal, it's been about 2.5 months and the green is still there. I have naturally red hair, I was wondering if the red or burgundy dye would cover the green, or if it would end up muddy and brown? I've tried to fade with clarifying shampoos, hot showers, etc and

Hi Teri! We're really surprised the semi permanent deposit of the teal is still in your hair after all this time. It sounds like you've done the kind of things we would recommend to help the color come out of the hair. Using a any shade of haircolor over the teal will come out muddy looking. Using a red color over the green will come out brown. We're sorry this color is taking so long to come out of the hair. There is nothing in this product that can penetrate the hair shaft to make the color last more than a few shampoos, so we're not sure why your color is hanging on so long.

Hi Sarrah! Since the color gradually rinses out with each shampoo, it is possible that it could get on your towels when you dry your wet hair. However, it will come out in the wash! As long as your hair is dry, the color won't transfer onto anything!

Hello Mel! We would recommend to make sure that the area where you applied the other product is completely washed out. Then we would recommend using the brunette shades in order for the color to show on your hair color. The brunette shades are teal, burgundy, red and tangerine. We hope this is helpful!
