Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Haircolor Remover:

I have colored my hair many colors since I was 14 (I'm 31 now) I've had black hair for 5 months now since I cut my dreads off I had about 3 inches of new growth (my blonde was showing), as a natural strawberry blonde I've never bleached before and yes this is a bleach although it doesn't say so. I decided it was time for a new color so got this. Read reviews watched videos I had an idea of what would happen. I put a bag on my hair to cover it, it does get warm my kids thought hair would burn. I left it on for 40 minutes the instructions say for dark hair 30-60 minutes. The orange color people keep talking about scared me cause I thought like clown orange but after I washed my hair the orange is actually the color of a natural red head and a color sold in a box. I personally like the results it's 3 tone I might not even color over it. There's my natural color, the yellowish blonde that is mentioned in the instructions for lighter colors cause my natural color got some on it and the "orange" color that was the black I was trying to get out. In the end the black is gone so it did as it said it would. I'd use it again.

Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Haircolor Remover:

I used color oops recently and loved the results, but I still had a little red in my blond hair. I went to buy more Oops but the store didn't have any so I figured this would work.

          Oh no. Honey, no.

At first I was skeptical because it looks like bleach. Blue powder, etc. But OK, it says hair color remover so maybe it's just a different formula idk.

So I use it as directed and 30 minutes later my previous red is back in horrible streaks and there's this awful brown color in the back. When I rinse it out my hair starts to come out.

Full disclosure, my hair is already bleach ravaged four months ago, which was why I wanted something that was gentle.

So now I'm sitting here with a chemical cut and the most uneven hair color I have ever had and i have no clue what to do other than invest in either a good electric razor or a few good hats.

Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Haircolor Remover:

Color remover is not supposed to lighten the natural regrowth. The semi-permanent color did not fully come out and my roots are white. I've used black a lot and it has never burned as bad as this. My hair felt smooth and silky before use, now it feels like straw. I thought it looked and smelled like bleach when I opend it, and I was correct. I do not recommend anyone to use this product.

Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Haircolor Remover:

I've been dying my hair brown, dark brown, red and purple every month for a year. I decided it was time to go lighter so I picked this up. I have never used anything like this so I did a ton of research beforehand. Please make sure you read up on how color removers work so you know what to expect.

I have hair down to my waist and 2 boxes was just enough. Next time I use this I will use 3 as I used every bit of both bottles. I covered my hair with a plastic bag and left on for 1 hour. Once I rinsed I was left with a bright orange color. The color was exactly what I expected. I then colored over my hair with a light ash brown to cover the orange and love my new lighter color.

This product will dry out your hair so be gentle with it for awhile after.

            Does what it said!

Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Haircolor Remover:

First: READ. Second: RE-READ. The directions say you will end up with orangish colored hair. The directions say you will NOT return to your original hair color. The directions say you will need to recolor your hair after use of this product! With all this in mind, and with my thick, below shoulder length hair, I bought and used two applications/packages. It removed my red mistake and lightened my dark auburn colored hair (x25 years) and left me with bright orange hair. I elected to wait a day to recolor my hair. I'm 90% gray by the way. My test strand of "Reddish Blonde" looks gorgeous even though I seem to have had three shades of orange. I applied color to the root of test strands (lighter two shades) and then after 13 minutes, I applied the color to the rest of the strand. My results are gorgeous.

I went to the store to buy Color Oops to get the red out of my hair in order to lighten and color it a different color. They didn't have color oops so I just grabbed this stuff. I should have read the ingredients but I didnt. Shame on me. I thought it was weird that it has that blue color like lightener, but I was in a hurry. Well, my regrowth was a dirty blonde color before. I just went to look in the mirror and it is yellow. Product is deceptive. This stuff isn't strong enough to obviously lighten my red hair to the level I need it to be. Hopefully my hair isn't destroyed since Sunday is my birthday and all I wanted was a different look.

Horrible product. My hair was light brown after having dyed my hair a shade lighter and it being brassy, I just wanted to take out the color and redo. Within 10 minutes of putting on the color remover my hair was bleached and orange. Thanks God I had other color handy to try to restore my hair to a normal color.

I bought this product, opened the package and started reading the directions when I thought to myself that this stuff looks A LOT like bleach; and I'm not trying to bleach my hair I'm just trying to take out some leftover red from a previous dye job. Luckily, I ran here and read some bad reviews before throwing this stuff on my head. Poorly advertised, this product should be sold as bleach not as hair color remover. Disappointed and wish I hadn't opened the box.

I went shopping late at night and this was the only product available. I dyed my hair very dark brown twice (once each month) and decided the dark look just wasn't for me. I'm a natural light brown/dark blonde. This product had all of the darkness removed within ten to fifteen minutes. It harshly bleached my roots, so they were much lighter than the rest of my hair, but luckily I was prepared for that possibility and had hair dye handy. This product is very easy to use. It smells bad, but after a deep conditioning I was able to get the smell out. I have thick, coarse hair and it worked very well. No darkness whatsoever was left. It did what it said it would do. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hello Grannie! It will remove the L'Oreal Preference haircolor as well as your natural hair color and undertones. We would not recommend that you use this product on gray hair, even if the gray hair is covered by a hair-coloring process. We hope this information was helpful.
