I have been dying my hair Platinum blonde for years. I always follow up with a brass remover. Today I dyed my hair Platinum and as always there was a SLIGHT orangey tint. After using this product my ENTIRE HEAD TURNED ORANGE!! It wasn't even that bad before using this! Please choose literally any other brass remover than this one.

So this was supposed till tone down a brassy color to a cool blonde. It did that in parts and I did spread this evenly I have been coloring my hair for a very long time . I have always been blonde. A color that I chose happen to deposit more brassy tones in wonder to try this . I left it on as long as it needed but it didn't lifted to a cool blonde tone it really Did nothing

        My Holy Grail

        By meeker1989

from Dade City, FL, United States

Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Brass Banisher:

I have naturally bright coppery red hair. Often I tend to bleach my hair because hey its fun to be blonde. But of course this awful orange tint likes to rear its nasty little head. And for the last five years when this happens I always turn to L'Oreal brass banisher. It works every time for me. And for the people who it didn't work for you have to remember every color you have dyed your hair that you currently have obviously plays a factor in how anything is going to work. If you have dyed your hair red, then bleached it then expect it to turn out wonderful without some extra work your asking a lot. There are thing like Cleansing treatments and color ooops to help get your hair ready for the fun life of a blonde. And if your not sure what to do search search search for someone who has gone through the same problem as you online and follow there lead it may help you a lot.

        Great Product!

Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Brass Banisher:

I bought this product yesterday. I had highlighted my hair about 2 week prior and it just still had too much brass. I wanted to cool it down a bit. It worked great and I was happy with the results. I left it in my hair for about 10 minutes before rinsing it out.

        Disappointment!

        By Newfie79

        from ,

Comments about L'Oréal Colorist Secrets Brass Banisher:

I used brass banisher about 6 years ago after a professional hair dye job ended brassy and it worked to tone my hair down a little. Fast forward to now, after a terrible bleach job gone bad at the salon left me looking copper, I turned to Brass Banisher again to fix my hair, but this time it didn't seem to do anything, or possible made my hair even more coppery. Sad to have wasted my money this time!

This product works as advertised and is foolproof.... Unlike other products at Sally's that can over process your hair or flat out not work. This is easy and gets the job done. Highly recommend!

I have recently highlighted my hair, but I also had natural dark blonde roots. How will this product effect my natural roots?

              A:

Hi Bells, Brass Banisher will neutralize brassy tones on bleached, highlighted, colored, and natural hair. It may tone down any brassiness in your natural haircolor, but it will not lighten or darken your natural dark blonde. We hope this helps!

          • Q:

I used L'Oréal 6A and usually use 5A. I feel I have too many gold tones. Would using brass banished help?
Asked on 7/12/2017 by Sherry from undisclosed

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

Hi Sherry, if you are experiencing gold tones after using 6A, that means that this shade is a bit too light for you. The further you go from your natural color, the more warm tones that you will expose. You could try Brass Banisher if there are only some warm tones here and there that you would like to neutralize. If it is way too brassy all over, we would suggest going back to a 5A. We hope this helps!

Hi Deb, as long as your hair is in good condition, you can use this again in 48 hours! If you are going to use this regularly, we only recommend doing it once a month.

Hi Kate! While this product does help neutralize unwanted yellow tones in blonde hair, we have not tested its effectiveness on gray hair. We cannot guarantee that it will work the same way on gray hair. We can say that it will make your hair shiny!
