Tricky to use but worth it

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

Using this product takes some practice. You need only do thin layers of the base coat (I recommend only 2 or 3 coats and dips). Follow the instructions carefully. Definitely use a makeup brush you do not use any longer to get the additional dip powder off your nails. I am not very skilled at polishing my nails and I found after 3 attempts that I was able to get a smooth, non lumpy nail. Also, the color that comes with the kit isn't the greatest. I recommend purchasing other colors to try.

When I got this kit the activator bottle was empty. I got the activator and everything was good after that.

          Love this!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I'd been getting dip powder manis for a year in Georgia and when I moved to another state I was so bummed the salons in my new area didn't offer dip powder. Seeing this kit at Ulta made me do happy. Some tips:

*definitely watch a video of a professional doing a dip mani before starting.
          *follow the instructions exactly.
*I do a coat, dip, and then tap the middle of the finger to shake off excess powder. Use a cosmetic brush to dust fingers before doing another set.
*the powder provided in the kit is better used as a base for darker colors than it is by itself. The colors on the boxes are misleading so if you get another color it's better to see it out of the box.
*the powder can be messy so prepare your area. I lined a tray with foil and put all my supplies inside. When I was done all I had to do was remove the foil.
*this product will be thicker than regular polish and closer to acrylic. I've never had dip powder done before (even when a salon used a grinder to buff the top down) where my nail was able to bend. This is great for growing nails longer!

All in all, this is a great option for home manicures and lasts longer than gel.

With the top amd base coat as long as you don't wipe the brush on the edge of the bottle and close them when you aren't using them this is a great product!!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

You get what you pay for with this kit. The pros are that it was easy to apply and nice that you can buy in store as opposed to having to order online like the main dip powder brands and they maintain a nice shine. The cons are that the powder doesn't bond well to the nail. So far I've had 3 nails pop off after 10 days of wear like they're press on nails. Also, the powder is also not fine enough or pigmented enough, you can see that the color looks a bit grainy.

Kiss makes a much cheaper kit if you want to practice or test drive dip powders. If you plan on doing your own dip mani's, I'd recommend Kiara Sky or Revel.

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

Did not like this product at all. I had to return it. It did go on easy, but was bumpy in places. I have natural, short nails that peel easily so I wanted something to stay on a little longer. I guess this product is similar to acrylic nails, which I've never had, and you can achieve that result at home. I'll go back to regular nail polish that lasts a few days on me if I'm lucky.

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

it was very messy and it took so long to complete. once my nails were done, I was very suprised by how stong they were but after about 4 days, the color started to peel off the sides of my nails which felt weird. Once I took the color off, my nails were brittle and gross. l gave myself about two weeks but I just don't like it

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I bought the starter kit and was really surprised by how easy it was to use! It's not messy but I put too much base coat on the first finger I did so the end result was a bulky nail. Be sure to only put a little of the base coat on, you don't need much. My nails did feel a little stiff with it on, but I think it was how I applied it more than it was the polish itself. It dries really quickly and the end result looked like gel/acrylic nails. I had to take them off after about a week though because of my job. They were still in perfect condition and fairly easy to remove (cotton ball soaked in acetone, leave on for 30 minutes, peel polish off). I will definitely use this again!

It is easy to use, however the top coat is not shiny at all. As soon as it dries it looks matte. It says to apply two coats to nake it shiny but it still doesnt

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

What I loved about this kit: it has everything you need to give yourself a "professional" manicure at home. It was super easy and surprisingly fast (way faster than RCM gel, which was always my go to, since this there's no curing). I love the way my nails look and feel HOWEVER...
Things I do not like about this kit: the color they give you with this kit should really just be called "clear". It barely has any pigment and you can see right through it (not something I particularly like when it comes to polish).

Overall, even though the color provided didn't thrill me, my nails DO look very nice, like I'm wearing a very shiny super sheer pink. I didn't give a full 5 star rating because I've yet to see how long it lasts and I haven't tried to remove them yet either. That being said, I can't wait to try more colors!
