Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

Did not like this product at all. I had to return it. It did go on easy, but was bumpy in places. I have natural, short nails that peel easily so I wanted something to stay on a little longer. I guess this product is similar to acrylic nails, which I've never had, and you can achieve that result at home. I'll go back to regular nail polish that lasts a few days on me if I'm lucky.

waaay too time consuming

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

it was very messy and it took so long to complete. once my nails were done, I was very suprised by how stong they were but after about 4 days, the color started to peel off the sides of my nails which felt weird. Once I took the color off, my nails were brittle and gross. l gave myself about two weeks but I just don't like it

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I bought the starter kit and was really surprised by how easy it was to use! It's not messy but I put too much base coat on the first finger I did so the end result was a bulky nail. Be sure to only put a little of the base coat on, you don't need much. My nails did feel a little stiff with it on, but I think it was how I applied it more than it was the polish itself. It dries really quickly and the end result looked like gel/acrylic nails. I had to take them off after about a week though because of my job. They were still in perfect condition and fairly easy to remove (cotton ball soaked in acetone, leave on for 30 minutes, peel polish off). I will definitely use this again!

It is easy to use, however the top coat is not shiny at all. As soon as it dries it looks matte. It says to apply two coats to nake it shiny but it still doesnt

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

What I loved about this kit: it has everything you need to give yourself a "professional" manicure at home. It was super easy and surprisingly fast (way faster than RCM gel, which was always my go to, since this there's no curing). I love the way my nails look and feel HOWEVER...
Things I do not like about this kit: the color they give you with this kit should really just be called "clear". It barely has any pigment and you can see right through it (not something I particularly like when it comes to polish).

Overall, even though the color provided didn't thrill me, my nails DO look very nice, like I'm wearing a very shiny super sheer pink. I didn't give a full 5 star rating because I've yet to see how long it lasts and I haven't tried to remove them yet either. That being said, I can't wait to try more colors!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

Admittedly, I'm a mani/pedi addict but it took a few months of the nail tech suggesting the powder gel before I gave in . . . and she was right. The best thing is that the at home version produces the same results (after a little trial and error). The nails are hard (like a thin acrylic without the damage), shiny and worry free. Below are some of my trail and error tips.
    1. Read and follow the directions to a T - the only thing I've changed is that I brush the powder off with a small makeup brush after dipping the finger. This is how the nail tech at the salon did it and it solves a lot of the clumping issue.
    2. I go around the nail with Vaseline to prevent the polish from sticking to my skin or cuticle. It may make your cuticles and surrounding skin look like you dipped your finger in Kool Aid but it washes right off.
    3. When you buff the color - go to town. Make sure the nails are a smooth, completely dull finish. I use the buffing/filing tool included and then use one of those buffers that looks like a butter stick to finish it.
    4. Thin coats will make your life 1,000 times easier - I've been doing 3 thin coats.

FINALLY the colors on the box are totally incorrect. Look at the color and imagine a significantly brighter color. For example, the Coral color looks a little neon and the wine color comes out a bright, classic red.

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I used to get my nails done religiously and I have had dip mani's in the past but I stopped going because I didnt want to invest the time and money any longer. I love painting my nails but reg polish doesnt hold up at my job . I saw this on sale and after watching videos on application decided to go for it. I made a mess at first but got better as I went along . It is very easy you just have to work slowly . I love how they look and I cant wait to get more colors ! This is a great product !

This is my new favorite nail product! So easy to apply (once you get the technique down). The only con is the colors are MUCH more vibrant than they appear on the box. I used "Cocktail Party Time" and thought I was getting what was on the box, not a neon pink. Altogether though, this is a great product and I totally recommend it!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I had heard about this type of product from a friend at work who had it done at a salon. Being someone who has done a million at home manicures, I saw this and was excited to purchase. I bought gel manicure sets from RedCarpet when they first came out as well. This product felt like an acrylic nail- it was hard and thick as if you painted acrylic on your nail, which also means you have to take it off in a special way, just like gel nail polish. I have sensitive skin and certain gel polishes/glue for fake nails will irritate my skin horribly- this product did just that. If the product hardens and is on/by your cuticles, it is irritating- for those with sensitivities. I maybe could have overlooked some of these things, but it then chipped off after 2 days! It began peeling from the bottom of my nail bed- you could see the discoloration from it coming up off my nail. After spending $36 to get the needed products for one color, I was highly dissatisfied! It's not gentle, it didn't last, and like their gel products, the finish wasn't all that pretty. I get a better look from Revlon's gel polish! and that's a heck of a lot easier! I wasn't expecting the hardened finish and though it wasn't difficult, the multiple steps took awhile. Don't waste the money or time!! Thankfully I bought this from ULTA, b/c they were so incredibly understanding of my dissatisfaction and helped with my refund. IF you buy from RedCarpet online, you have 30 days to return and product can't be opened or used!! How does that work??? lol

It looks great and came out like it does when I go to the nail salon. The instructions are okay but I recommend watching a youtube video about the application process to make sure it comes out flawless the first time.
