Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

The first time I used this product it was trial and error so I wasn't really satisfied at first, then I redid them in a few days they come off like acrylic nails so it was a little hard to take off but now they look pretty good and they haven't chipped yet !

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I usually use the RCM gel but wanted a different option in place of using the light. This product was very tricky at first and I needed to redo some nails but it was easy to catch on to the technique. My biggest recommendation is using an old makeup brush to dust off the excess not only on the skin but the nail too. This keeps the product from becoming lumpy and too thick, however, you'll still be left with a nail that looks well manicured. This will probably take me a solid hour to do but I do feel like it will last longer than the gel (which usually lasts only a week for me).

I love the color but I do have a darker skin tone, so I could see where this may not be the best shade for everyone.

Make sure you have an old make-up brush (to dust off excess powder) and a course file to help buff/smoothen out any "lumps".

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

So, I've had acrylic nails for waaay too many years and have tried to give them a break many times. That's a no go. They've been left too damaged and UV gel and even LED gels just don't come off easily with no additional damage. So the nail tech talked me into trying the dip nail powder, touting its benefits (thinner, strong, easy to remove and non damaging). The appt took about 1-1/4 hrs and cost $45. Every time it would cost $45. Yikes. So, being the kinda gal I am, ("hey, I can do that... somebody hold my beer), I thought I'd give this kit a try. I watched a bunch of YouTube vids and had at it.
Now, let me offer a couple of tips. DO NOT relax with a glass of wine while you do this. DO NOT let your small kids or cats help you with this. DO NOT set the bottles close to you, where you lean over to get close so you can see. This stuff smells caustic. Your eyes will water and burn! I used thin coats of the base, did two nails then dipped. Keep the brush on components OFF of your skin/cuticles.
It took me about 45 minutes to do and I did not feel I needed more than the supplied buffer to smooth the nails before the final coat. Rushing and using thick coats of the base might mean you would, but I did not.
The included color is basically invisible so I did swipe one coat of normal polish, Deborah Lippmann Sandcastle Disco (I think it's called).
Super happy with this and will continue using it.
