Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

The product was easy to use. Give yourself a learning curve because the first application will not be perfect but with practice and a youtube video or two this kit is really user friendly. The application lasted me 2 weeks and they helped my nails grow without leaving them weak and brittle.

I left a review earlier and decided to go ahead and redo my nails to give another shot. I did better as to not get on my skin much but the spots are back and I'm so disappointed. I allowed for extra dry time between coats this time. Does anyone know what causes this???

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I have really thin nails that bend and split very easily. I used to go to a nail salon to get professional acrylic nails, but those are really expensive, plus all the buffing they do thin my nails out even more. I love how inexpensive this product is and how I don't thin my real nails out trying to buff them. I also have the added problem of the acrylic peeling away from the base of my nails by the cuticles (this happens with professionals too). I found that if I put a base on first (I use 8-in-1 Base by Red Carpet) that it keeps my nails on better. It is very messy and does have a strong smell, but it's not so bad that I wouldn't use the product. The secret to getting the acrylic off is simple: soak a cotton ball in 100% acetone and place it on your acrylic nails, wrap it with aluminum foil, and let it sit for about 20 minutes. It comes right off with no buffing! I love this product as it helps my nails grow long like I like them without chipping, breaking, or bending. The longest my nails have lasted is a little over two weeks (which is average for professional too). It does take about an hour to do so I usually wait until I have a lot of free time.

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I left four stars because what I purchased was not what I got. Many reviewers seemed to not like the color it says is included with this kit (Contract Please), but I was pretty excited about it because I love wearing pale pinks and creamy whites on my nails. Well, currently you're not going to get the Starter Kit. What I got in the mail was the HOLIDAY starter kit. So I still got all of the starting items, but instead of the pale pink dip I got a Red glitter and Gold glitter. So in a way, yes you get two colors right now, but I rarely wear glitter. So I was disappointed that the product description hasn't even been updated. They also include a different file now than the one in the picture above. Thankfully I also purchased the black color dip so I used that for my first try.

Besides that disappointment, I am impressed with the strength of the product. My first application was messy, but I also blame that on having really short nails right now. I always do my own manicures and polish at home, so I could handle this, but it was hard to keep the base coat off of my skin, especially after the first dip in color. I could handle everywhere except the tip of my nail, so if my nails were longer it would have been SO much easier. The base coat is seriously strong. Like super glue strong. Also, I don't think I did the activator + top coat correctly at the end. I have spots on my nails that are matte in appearance with white spots. Maybe I didn't let the activator dry enough before applying top coat.

I still think this is a great product and I want to give it another chance. I am excited to see the growth in my nails without chips and breaks!!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I am a 40 year old woman who has been doing my own nails since I can remember. My sister is a nail technician and has tried several gels and they all damaged my nails and dried them out so bad they were a mess. They also did not stay on the way they are supposed to. I have been told I have oily nail beds. I came to the conclusion I would just have to keep using regular nail polish every few days because nothing lasted longer than that! Until I purchased this kit!! I have to admit I was very skeptical. The first time I used it I was hooked! The first set I put on came out good. I learned a few things and now They come out great! I agree that having small brush to remove extra powder before extra dips! I have not gotten 21 days of wear out of a set yet but I chalk it up to my oily nail beds! I have gotten 12 days out of a set!! For me that is amazing! Not only would I recommend this product but I have recommended this product!!!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Starter Kit:

I got the starter kit last night and picked up a color I liked (I wasn't fond of the ones in the package) and gave it a try. I generally do a gel mani every week or two depending on how rough I've been on my nails. This was a little bit trickier, but not bad at all. I read other reviews, the enclosed directions and watched a tutorial video before starting. I definitely second the review that suggests you use a very soft brush to dust off between dips! The nails on my first hand came out a bit thicker than I would have liked and needed quite a bit of buffing to bring them down but by my second hand, I had the knack of it. Practice makes perfect and if this was the result on my first try, I'm looking forward to using this again. I can tell already - getting this off of my nails is going to be a pain, but totally worth it if I can go 2-3 weeks between mani's.

I've been using this kit and hoping for better. I've watched the RCM Youtube vids, contacted them via Facebook (they refer me to the videos) and I've followed the instructions to the letter. Whenever I use the system I have to repair multiple nails the next day. I'm not someone who is hard on her nails. Is it a problem with the 'base coat' aka glue formula? You're better off going to a beauty supply store and doing an acrylic kit (these polishes are just tinted acrylic powder). It get frustrating when I have to repair a nail every single day. Until they improve the formula for the bond/glue/whatever, steer clear.

Loved the idea, but application was pretty difficult. The color dip powder was not opaque so I used a polish and a top coat of my choosing. It turned out pretty well and feels just like a gel manicure, I am excited to see how long it lasts. To me the smell was horrible and unbearable.
