This non-irritating, naturally-foaming cleanser is the perfect start to around-the-clock control of breakouts, comedones and excess surface oils. Salicylic Acid sloughs off dead skin cells to clear clogged follicles, helping to prevent future breakout activity. Soothing, naturally-antiseptic extracts of Balm Mint, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Burdock and Camphor calm congested, aggravated skin. Skin is left clean and prepped for optimal absorption of acne control treatment ingredients. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

How it works:
  • Naturally-foaming cleanser clears away excess oil without stripping skin.
  • Salicylic Acid aids in clearing congested follicles and soothing irritation.
  • An anti-acne blend of botanical extracts including Licorice, Calendula, Milk Thistle, Lemon Peel, Arnica and Bergamot works with Salicylic Acid to help prevent future breakouts.
  • Tea Tree, Burdock, Eucalyptus, Golden Seal and Chamomile help eliminate bacteria.
  • Camphor and Menthol cool inflammation.

We recommend that first-time Dermalogica users visit an authorized skin treatment professional for a client consultation in an ULTA store.

Comments about Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash:

If you use this product religiously (1-2 times a day) it really works. I stopped using it and my skin got worse, started using it again and it has improved, but not as well as the first time (but that is because I don't use it as often as I was using it the first and second times I purchased it.) If you were going to purchase one product from dermicalogical, this is the one you should purchase.

I love this stuff!! Yes, it's expensive, but oh my goodness is it worth it. First of all, you get so much product and it's going to last you for a long time (unless you're like me and have half of the bottle spill out overnight on the sick from Lord knows what, lol). And Second, this does a great job at pulling out all of the junk in your skin and keeping it clear. I struggle with adult acne and this cleanser in conjunction with my acne cream from the dermatologist does a FANTASTIC job! And it doesn't dry me out too terribly like other cleansers, but it might a bit for people because the acne ingredient, but what can you expect. Overall, great product!

I'm 23 and I have struggled with acne since my teens. I've found things to help slightly, but leave me with dry patches, irritated skin, etc.
I decided to spend the money and try this product out. I have to say it was the best decision I've ever made for my skin. Just in a month, my skin is smoother and clearer. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

                • Q:

I use daily microfoliant, special cleansing gel and active moist at night. I'm looking for a new morning face wash for my VERY OILY skin. I use the oil matte broad spectrum with SPF after a morning shower, will this help clear oil and combat my adult acne? Im 25 and have been dealing with acne for over 10 years. Have had great results from this brand so I'm willing to spend the money

Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend using Dermal Clay Cleanser. You may also leave this cleanser on your skin for 5-10 minutes as a mini masque to absorb even more oil. We also recommend applying a layer of Breakout Control under Active Moist in problem areas to address breakouts.

                • Q:

I have been using the clearstart foaming wash since this summer, however, I am in my early twenties and I believe the acne I do get is due to stress, climate change while travelling and hormones. The foaming wash did help my skin and seemed to suit it, but I ran out and was thinking of getting this cleanser now instead, as it is for adult acne. I do use a clarisonic brush and still got occasional breakouts with the clear start wash, and have oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. Will this be suitable for my needs and likely suit my skin? Also, is there usually a purging period where skin gets worse before it clears, with this? Thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry. This cleanser does not address discoloration. If you are looking for an exfoliating cleanser that will also brighten the skin we recommend using Skin Resurfacing Cleanser. This cleanser has lactic acid in it and will help to remove dead skin cells as well as even skin tone.

Thank you for your inquiry. Acne can be a tricky condition to treat. It depends on the cause of the acne how effect topical products will be in addressing it. If topical home care products are not giving you the results that you are looking for you will need to include professional treatment and possibly medical prescriptions to address persistent acne. We recommend meeting with your Ulta Skin Therapist and discussing treatment options. She can also Face Map your skin to make sure the MediBac line is the best choice for your skin.
