Ask a Question
Tarte Clay Stick Foundation is like a nutrition bar for your skin. The full-coverage, powder-to-liquid formula melts into skin while micro-encapsulated powders burst with your body heat to keep you shine and cake-free. This vegan formula features antioxidant vitamins C, and Amazonian clay, a total skin-balancing powerhouse that hydrates or mattifies depending on your skin type. The guilt-free blend also means there are no harsh chemicals like talc, gluten, sulfates, or parabens in your buildable, decadent coverage. Use on-the-go, as a spot concealer, or in lighter or darker shades to highlight and contour - just swipe, blend and #slaywithclay.

For best results, apply with the smoothie blender foundation brush (sold separately).
  • Twist-up foundation & swipe directly onto skin, concentrating coverage at the center of face to cover redness, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, pores & other imperfections.
  • Blend outward in small circular motions toward the jaw & hairline using the smoothie blender foundation brush.

Tarteist tip: Dot & blend foundation directly over acne, spots or scars to conceal or wear it a few shades lighter or darker as a creamy highlighting & contouring stick.

Comments about Tarte Clay Stick Foundation:

I love this foundation! If you are oily I definitely recommend using a powder to set it to make it matte because it is more of a dewy finish. For me this layered really nice on top of itself to build coverage. My skin is prone to breakouts and for me I feel like it soothes my skin instead of making it worse.

Comments about Tarte Clay Stick Foundation:

I purchased it after an ulta employee offered to apply it for me so i can try it before buying. Ive only used it a few times after purchasing but so far i am in LOVE with this foundation. It blends really easily, feels so velvety and soft.. its medium coverage in my opinion which is what i personally like. It doesnt sink in to pores or fine lines, it covers them perfectly for me, and it lasted a good 7-8 hours, and that was with being in the hot sun allll day. I do prime and use setting powder as well so i think that helps a great deal. But it looked great when i applied it in store with nothing on my skin but the foundation itself. I have sensitive combo/oily skin, and its so hard for me to find foundations that work for me. Most make me breakout, or exaggerate my pores and fine lines, and make me look horribly greasy after 2-3 hrs. The clay stick didnt get me greasy, i was a little shiny in the t-zone area after about 5-6 hours, but that doesnt really bother me bc i just touch up with a setting powder and its back to normal. I was scared this would not be good for my oily skin but i really do love it so far. Im really happy with my purchase, i hope this stick lasts a long time before i have to buy a new one!!!

Comments about Tarte Clay Stick Foundation:

Tarte, I LOVE Tarte with my entire heart. I wanted to love this product but unfortunately this product was a flop for me. I watched Nicol Concillio's review on it and decided to get it because she mentioned it being good for dry skin. Upon applying the product has a dewy finish, which was another reason I wanted to love it; however it clung on to my dry patches and clogged my pores. It made texture on my skin where there wasn't any, and made my skin break out. My husband even noticed it on my skin and was the one who told me about the breakout. Mind you, I used the maracuja oil with this and made sure I was well moisturized.

Comments about Tarte Clay Stick Foundation:

I love this foundation. Ive been using the original Tarte Amazonian Clay Liquid Foundation for months and months but saw this in the store and had to give it a try. I've been wanting something a little lighter on the skin and this is perfect. Blends super easy, I even can use my fingers to blend out some places- brush seems to work the best when compared with a beauty blender.

I typically put on my make up around 7:00am before work and I noticed my face looked a little more dewey by 1:00pm (6 hours in) but I didn't mind it. When I got home today around 8:00pm, foundation still looked great, no separation. If you are really oily I can see how this foundation might not work for you as it does get a little dewey as the day goes on, especially in the T zone. I think it works great for normal to combo skin though :]

I also have acne prone skin and this feels very lightweight and has not caused any breakouts. LOVE IT

        Perfect Foundation

Comments about Tarte Clay Stick Foundation:

The tarte stick foundation has quickly become my holy grail foundation. On me, it lasts all day (I use it on top of my SPF moisturizer and apply the foundation after I've let the moisturizer settle in for about 10 minutes or more). I draw a few lines on my cheek, forehead, down my nose, and a dot on my chin, and then blend it all with a flat top buffer brush. The look is flawless and the coverage lasts all day. It hides the redness in my cheeks and looks fresh too. As far as color goes, I was surprised I had a perfect match with Medium Neutral because with other brands, I typically use light shades that have yellow undertones. I purchased this from another retailer and will buy another one since there are bonus points (at the time of this review) on tarte products.

I love my stick foundation. I am very oily in my T-Zone, under skin acne, and a few blackheads on my nose/chin. I purchased a color too light. Fabulous highlighter with my correct color. My face is flawless all throughout the work day. I work from 8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. I love the way my face looks. Product is worth a try. It may work for you or it may not. Tarte has stepped up their game and are producing truly marvelous products. I will buy this again.
