Works Great, gives awesome curls! They will be curls curls not waves. If you want more of the wave look, I recommend the 1 1/2 but if you want more of a tight curl, I recommend this one (1 1/4).

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

I purchased this product because it had decent reviews. I had the 1 inch pink titanium curler (from Hot Tools) for years, which I loved but it eventually reached the end of its lifespan. I wanted a thicker barrel and this one came recommended to me from a friend. I don't like the tourmine. As others have said, it snags the hair. I feel like it heats up quickly but for whatever reason won't hold a curl. My hair falls completely flat an hour after curling. My hair can hold a curl from the pink titanium curler for at least two days. Returning this iron ASAP and going to try out the gold iron since it's a tad cheaper and others said they liked it better. If all else fails, I'll be going back to my trusted pink titanium curler. Don't waste your money on this.

It works well even on the lowest heat setting. I wanted a curling iron for soft curls that would be kind to my fine, colored hair and this one does a good job.

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

It's easy to use. I already have several Hot Tools styling tools, but not the ceramic/tourmaline. I absolutely love it! It makes my thick, course, curly and frizzy hair so shiny and smooth in no time. It heats up really fast and maintains the heat level while I'm curling it. I got the 1 1/2" and use it on my long bob to add body and a little bit of wave instead of having it stick straight. Would definitely purchase this again in different sizes.

Hello! I have a medium length hair - it falls half way my back. It is very dry, frizzy and damaged. I need help in choosing which to choose - gold or purple or something else. Also, which barrel would give me nice loose curls without causing further damage to my hair? Confused between 1 1/4 and 1 1/2. Please advise! Thank you.

                          A:

The larger the barrel, the looser the curl! Since you have such long hair, try the 1-1/2" model. Ceramic Tourmaline helps to infuse hair with moisture and shine, so it is a great option for damaged, distressed, or over-processed hair. This is the option we'd suggest for you based on your description of your hair.

The 1 1/2 inch barrel should work perfectly for you! And you can use either CeramicTI Tourmaline or Gold, depending on your preference. If your hair is damaged or over-processed, you may prefer the CeramicTI Tourmaline, since it produces far infrared heat for moisture retention. Enjoy!
