Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

This is such a good curling iron for its price! I did get it on sale when I bought it but its worth every penny! I love the way that it curls and its so versatile for anything that you need. I would definitely buy this if you're looking for something to last you for a long time. The curls are also so beautiful. I'm 100% happy with this purchase

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

I use the curling iron every day and my hair is fine, but fairly thick and straight. I like the 1 1/2 inch barrel the best. The problem I have had with past curling irons is the cord shorts out after a year or two. So I'm hoping that does not happen with this one.

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

My hair is pretty straight, so it takes a lot of time, effort, and hair spray to curl my hair. So far I'm happy! I have to do tighter curls to end up with looser curls, otherwise the curl wont last as long (despite the spray). But it still works! If your hair holds a curl easy, then I'm sure you don't have the issue of curls not lasting long!

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

I purchased this product because my hairstylist uses one similar to give me waves. This curling iron does not heat up as quickly as I'd like. It also did absoutely nothing when I used it. It left my hair limp and wave-less. Not to mention it snags my hair. I have a wand that works wonders and should have just kept using it instead.

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

It works like I expected it to... I like the big, loose curls it gives me. I specifically got the purple one for the shine, frizz control. It helps a little a with frizz (as much as a curling iron can), but haven't really noticed a difference in shine. Overall though, I think it's a good curling iron!

                    • Q:

I have very fine, thin, color treated hair that has some heat damage. My hair is maybe two inches below my shoulders. I've had trouble finding a curling iron that will hold curl in my hair without completely frying it (I'm careful). I wanted to know if the tourmaline (purple) or the Nanoceramic curling iron would be better for my hair. Also, which size barrel should I get for large but defined curls?

                        A:

If you have fine, color treated hair you will want to use either the ceramic tourmaline (purple barrel) or Nano-ceramic (Black and White) because Ceramic can be gentler on the hair because they heat the hair follicle from the inside out rather than applying heat from the outside. Remember that heat is damaging to one's hair and you'll look to have the least amount of heat that still will curl/style the hair effectively. Try it first at < 300 degrees to see how effective it is at that temperature. We recommend based on your hair length that you try the 1" or even 1 1/4" to get large defined curls.

Do all (nanoceramic, ceramic tourmaline, and gold plated) curling irons have the same results of curls? I have thin, long, but not a lot of hair. Curls don't last on my hair, so I would like to buy one that has long lasting, but as well and smooth and shiny curls.

                        A:

Honestly they do have the same results. All of it is dependent upon the temperature of the iron and the texture of your hair. We'd suggest using a hold spray to help the curls last on your hair. The gold curling irons are the industry standard and are in use by more stylists than any other curling irons. We suggest you start there unless your hair is damaged by heat or chemicals now, if which case we'd suggest you try the NanoCeramic curling irons.
