Hair felt healthy and curled

By Laura

About Me Product Junkie

Pros

  • Healthy hair

Cons

  • Little stand gets in the way
  • Time Consuming

Best Uses

  • Long Hair
  • Thin Hair

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

Hair actually felt healthy. It did not have the burned hair smell that the gold curler leaves. Hair was shiny too. The little stand gets I. The way when you are trying to curl your hair sometimes. I wish it was built in instead of having to fold it and unfold it when setting the tool down on the counter.

"on" light stopped working by the 3rd use

      About Me Beauty Conscious

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

I was super excited to get the 1 1/2 inch. I used twice with no concerns, the third time the red "on" light wouldn't come on and it wouldn't heat. Unfortunately for me, I use a flat iron and a curling wand daily so this didn't get used very often and it's beyond the return time frame. I had it stored in a cool dry place and the cord was not wrapped around.

I had a curling iron that I used but I hated- it always burned my hand and it ripped hairs out. This one doesn't and I feel dumb for letting that madness go on for so long. Also, we had plans to go out and I had 2 mins to do my hair- quick curl and omg so cute. I am so loving this thing!

I use my curler frequently. The spring has broken, so now the curler will NOT grip my hair. How can I order new springs? This is the second unit I've had that needed new springs for after about 1 1/2 years use.

                    • Q:

I have very fine, thin, color treated hair that has some heat damage. My hair is maybe two inches below my shoulders. I've had trouble finding a curling iron that will hold curl in my hair without completely frying it (I'm careful). I wanted to know if the tourmaline (purple) or the Nanoceramic curling iron would be better for my hair. Also, which size barrel should I get for large but defined curls?

                        A:

If you have fine, color treated hair you will want to use either the ceramic tourmaline (purple barrel) or Nano-ceramic (Black and White) because Ceramic can be gentler on the hair because they heat the hair follicle from the inside out rather than applying heat from the outside. Remember that heat is damaging to one's hair and you'll look to have the least amount of heat that still will curl/style the hair effectively. Try it first at < 300 degrees to see how effective it is at that temperature. We recommend based on your hair length that you try the 1" or even 1 1/4" to get large defined curls.

Do all (nanoceramic, ceramic tourmaline, and gold plated) curling irons have the same results of curls? I have thin, long, but not a lot of hair. Curls don't last on my hair, so I would like to buy one that has long lasting, but as well and smooth and shiny curls.

                        A:

Honestly they do have the same results. All of it is dependent upon the temperature of the iron and the texture of your hair. We'd suggest using a hold spray to help the curls last on your hair. The gold curling irons are the industry standard and are in use by more stylists than any other curling irons. We suggest you start there unless your hair is damaged by heat or chemicals now, if which case we'd suggest you try the NanoCeramic curling irons.
